Is Colin Kaepernick still unemployed because his asking price is too high?

That’s the suggestion in a report from Dan Graziano of ESPN, who cites multiple sources as saying that Kaepernick won’t settle for just any job.

According to the report, Kaepernick wants to go to a place that will give him a chance to start, and pay him a salary in the range of $9 million to $10 million a year. That would mean he expects a better deal than the ones free agent quarterbacks Josh McCown and Brian Hoyergot this month.

That would also mean some teams that could make sense for Kaepernick as a backup, like the Seahawks and Panthers, wouldn’t be attractive to Kaepernick because he wouldn’t have a chance to start.

Realistically, there aren’t many places where Kaepernick would get a chance to start. So if he’s limiting himself to those places, there are few options available to him.

One person we haven’t heard from is Kaepernick himself. Although he is active on social media, he rarely tweets about football and has not said anything about how much money he wants or what kind of opportunity he’s seeking. If he’s willing to be a backup and play for backup money, saying so publicly might help him get such an offer. If he’s not willing to be a backup and play for backup money, he may remain unemployed for a while.

This what I was saying in another thread we didn't know how much or what he is asking for we name bums like Sanchez getting signed for example but he signing for the low like 1 or 2 mill no QB has signed for this 9 to 10 million or more yearly yet except Glennon(who ain't shit btw)

But his demands could further hinder him finding work

And I think he is justified in these demands it's just something else to hold against him

I mean... The Bears signed Mike Glennon......... Like... Seriously, what are they really talking about here???

For 15 mill a year at that lmao

Kap allegedly wants 9 mill and a chance to start that ain't much to ask as a QB who is actually proven

Brock Osweiler made 17 last year never did shit lol

They throw money around for the QB position with little production

It Ain't but, it is at the same time. He's considered a backup and a "distraction" at that. He's not getting any higher than 5 a year. He should stayed in SanFrsn he had to know he wasn't as valued as he once was before.

I thinks it Bullshit but I also think he played himself.

San Fran wasn't gonna pay him whatever it was he was due this year he was getting cut for sure

I just don't think Kap is getting that much $.
5 million tops.

Kaep should sign with Cleveland.
I don't know if Hue wants him here. He just dealt with RG3 and probably wants a QB who can go through some progressions since his job is on the line. But since they don't have a QB, I don't see what they have to lose. Even if Kap is a backup to Brock or to Hue's pet project, it's better than not having him.

At least let him compete for the job. By not signing Kap, it leads me to believe they going to do something with that number 12 pick. Otherwise, someone needs their ass kicked.

Let's keep in mind that every owner is a BILLIONAIRE. The entire football budget is payed for by the network money alone, with lots left over. That leaves concessions, merchandising, seating, parking, etc. These mofos are printing money and there you have it; 10 mil ain't shit for a proven QB yet it's Kaep so the black ball (no pun) is in play big time.

Broncos shulda got him. But Elway to racist for that. Im starting to doubt football as a sport.

Im disappointed in Elway supporting Trumps cabinet on Broncos letter head. Im in a weird place right now as far as pulling for my team....

But we would def show out if we had Keap!

I'm in the same boat man

I love football especially the NFL/Cowboys

But I can see as I get even older falling back from it I'm nowhere near that yet but real shit none of us have business supporting it

We support our brothers playing and the teams we grew up rooting for no doubt but these racists ass CACs in charge don't deserve that support at the same time

Progressions???

Y'all got Brock Osweiller as the starter right now. LOL. Hugh better take what he can get unless they plan on drafting Watson. Also, they better pick Watson if they go QB in the draft. Lord knows Trubisky is another Brandon Weeden waiting to happen.

He's making white males uncomfortable in the US.... he may never play another snap. That request for 9 million is reasonable, but the politics trump reason with CACs

Yeah I agree he's not asking for much but he's making it easy for no one to give him a shot. That's why trash like Mark Sanchez and Kellen Moore getting picked up.

These owners out here are already scared to ruffle their fanbase by bringing him in.......but in the past its been shown that fans don't give a shit as long as you win. He's gonna have to come down on that asking price.....adn even then that may not be enough.

He might need to do a deal like Vick and just show these dudes he can play again.......

fuck this. Lets start our own footballe league brothers! Don't watch another NFL game! I already started 10 years ago, whos with me?!!!

There's not a lot of offenses in the league he can thrive in. The 49ers ironically has the best coach in the league for him. Without Kubiak in Denver, they're off the board.

What offenses can Sanchez, Barkley, Osweiller, and Glennon thrive in that Kaepernick can't?

Seems to me the only QB mentioned above that has thrived offensively in the NFL is Kaepernick.
