Man, Holmes was born at the wrong time.

Just seeing his chin in this one, he’s underrated as a great.

Holmes was one of best boxers I've ever seen. His jab was a thing of beauty.

I love the story Sylvester Stallone said about Shavers during the making of Rocky III. He said they were sparring and he told Shavers: “Earnie, I know you hit harder than that! Give it to me!” Stallone said Shavers hit him with all his might with a kidney shot and he tried to play it off by walking away. He said the punch was so hard that when he got to his trailer, he threw up. Rest in power to one of boxing’s best.

Similar story;
Dolph Lundgren hit Stallone in Rocky 4 so hard that he put him in the hospital for I believe two weeks.
Stallone said when he got to the hospital, Nuns and a Priest were waiting for him because they didn't think he was going to make it.
