Blackamoor in gold...looking royal himself

I dont see anything wrong with it although the creator of those brooches used African images in his jewelry and furniture depicting them as subservient or as royalty maybe it was her haphazard way of a compliment that of course went south

The jewelry looked interesting until I read this part:

Many blackamoor figures portray exoticized images of servants and slaves of African descent.

I need to read more about, though.

Also, given her subtle racist practices in the past, fuck this bitch.

Offensive by depicting black royalty that ruled Europe for hundreds of years?

I dont get this.

Does that look like a servant to you?

Niggas whine over anything.

I agree with some of these comments.

We have went back and forth with the Moors here on more than one occasion...but not the jewelry...historical context is definitely needed.

Nothing wrong? Don't Kid yourself. :smh:

Assist....

This chic has a LONG HISTORY of making (completely inappropriate) racial remarks 'in public'.

The Princess of Kent is German. (Her real name is Marie Christine von Reibnitz)

And her father was an OFFICER in Hitler's Nazi Regime. :hmm: (His name was Baron Gunther von Reibnitz. )

And in 2004 one of her MANY remarks 'became newsworthy'.... over here in the USA.

She was at a restaurant in New York when she infamously told a group of Black People sitting near her table.... to “go back to the colonies." :hmm: (Yeah, you read that right. She said 'The Colonies' ON PURPOSE... because that's what England called America back when Black folks were SLAVES. :hmm:)

Translation = It was a slick way to tell them to 'go back to slavery'. :hmm:

Now here's some context, and why it should 'make sense' that she would wear that brooch...
  • The Prince & Princess of Kent live at Kensington Palace.
  • It costs £120,000-a-year for upkeep. (Or $160K per year in US Dollars)
  • The Prince & Princess of Kent have been living RENT FREE ever since 1979.
  • Because Queen Elizabeth PAYS ALL THEIR RENT on that property.
  • Which means they don't have to get off their asses and 'generate some income' from time to time... in order to 'help out' with the bills (even sporadically ) like everyone else does.
In England, it is well documented that Queen Elizabeth II has often referred to Black People as 'Nig Nogs'... or 'Blackamoors'... as an insult. :hmm:

So wearing that Brooch was a (not-too-subtle) gesture for Princess Michael to 'show her allegiance' to the Queen.. and that she openly 'shares the same opinions/beliefs' as the Queen, about black people. :hmm:

It's like giving a 'wink and a nod'... to certain folks across the room... without actually 'saying' shit directly.

Just like if her father showed up to a pubic event wearing a Schutzstaffel ('SS') pin on his collar... or if he wore a Swastika as an armband... you would INSTANTLY know (with just a glance) that he is LOYAL to Hitler, and shares the same beliefs about "race". :hmm:

Thanks...

I've seen a lot online since this happened about the royals, the blackamoor pin, and 'facts' trying to justify it.

This shit is really confusing.

It's offensive if you understand white supremacy. It's not racist. It is making a mockery of the Moors after they had been conquered by the Italians. The word 'blackamoor' also was a derogatory word for 'all' Black people in Europe after the Moorish were conquered. The white woman wore the pendant to the dinner to symbolically let the bedwench know to stay in her place.
