Exxon responds to Trump’s hypothetical fundraising call: ‘It never happened’
During an Arizona campaign rally on Monday, President Trump told supporters that he could theoretically fundraise more than his Democratic rival Joe Biden by calling Wall Street firms and the heads of major energy companies. The president then described a scenario of how a call would unfold with the head of Exxon. Exxon responded saying, “We are aware of the President’s statement regarding a hypothetical call with our CEO…and just so we’re all clear, it never happened.”
