Not surprised at all....

Thats what happens when you don't know

Who you are...

But Oprah lookin real foolish now

Going after Russel

But busted getting all snuggly with Weinstein...

Let's not even talk about the sexual assaults the are going on in her ALL GIRL schools in Africa...

There should be a documentary on that..

Because it didn't happen once..

It happend twice...

Russel should produce it

I'll bet there was a lot more to her answer that we didn't hear, at least I hope so. Imo I don't think it was`so much about her wanting to change her skin color as it was about her desire to escape the indignities a system headed by white people heaped upon her and all other black people growing up in racist Mississippi. :hmm:

Gotta disagree with you there. My cousin sat in classes with her at Tennessee State University and told us how she was back then. She's always been an underdog in life and that obviously fueled her desire and drive. Let's not gloss over the charitable works she has done and inspiration she's been because we disagree with a few moves she's made. That's exactly what dem folks did to Mamba.

Respect bruh...

Nah she ain't do a documentary on the sexual assaults in her school..

And Oprah has a history of supporting negative imagery of bruhs..

It's just beyond blatant..

She made a choice in life and she has to take all that comes

With it

The good and the bad..

I could make some nice change...

Supporting faggotry

And selling my people out..

But I made a choice to be loyal..have integrity

And not sway from my morals for no amount of money..

My soul is intact..

Not hating on Oprah

Just sayin

A soul less coon by anyother name

Is still a souless coon

Ive met many black peeps before who said the exact same.

They usually grew up around cacs and the abuse was so was bad that at certain points they wished they were white so they wouldnt have to deal with all the insults, bullying, beatings...

Specially when you a kid and dont know how to love and defend yourself yet.

She didn't have to build that school at all. She didn't have to take care of Coretta Scott King in her elder years. She didn't have to contribute to building the school in Mrs. King's honor across the street from Morehouse. Just a few examples. To call her a soulless coon is a bit extreme.

There is no billionaire that hasn't compromised part of themselves to make 1000 million. She could have been like Mayweather with her money.

I agree and I hope she did. But we don't know for sure because the clip ended so abruptly, and because of that I kinda got the feeling there was more to her answer. :hmm:

I agree with alot of your points.

However,

The video getting cut off is a problem and people change over time with experiences.

Sadly, video (especially for public figures) allows your past viewpoints to be manipulated in the present to push whatever agenda is important to whomever.

Come on man. Yall gotta stop taking shit out of context. Now there's plenty of shit to call Oprah a coon on as of late, but her talking about the context of a little girl growing up in a pre-civil rights racist South and wanting be what a little girl saw as people who got the best of everything just because of their skin color is not crazy. White supremacy was/is some powerful shit that effects people without them even knowing it.

Now if she was adult Oprah saying she wants to be white, then go in. Kids observe things a lot differently because they don't have the understanding yet. I remember when I told my daughter(4 at the time) she was Black while having a conversation about Black history and she looked at me crazy like," No daddy I'm brown." Her perspective was literally the color of brown in her crayon box. Now if that conversation was recorded, it would be retarded if someone accused my daughter of thinking she was Mexican or some shit 20 years in the future. Oprah ain't my favorite person, but taking a small clip out of context is dumb.

This is one area I can empathize with Oprah with.

If you’ve never grew up in an area with majority white people, especially in small country towns, then you may think it’s bogus. NEVER underestimate the power of being affected by your environment and if you are underestimating it, then you haven’t put enough thought into it.

When I was young, I wished that I was white. I’m not going to pretend like it wasn’t a struggle for me to understand how I fit in with people that didn’t look like me. I don’t blame my parents either because they did the best they could in raising me. Some shit they were unable to control considering we were a working class family and I spent 7 to 8 hours a day in school that was mostly white.

Ya’ll know this to be true, especially when it comes to impressionable minds of children. That’s why some Black folk make it a point to put their kids in environments with people that looks like them because you know the effects of raising black kids around a mostly white environments.

Difference is when you get money/power you are not throwing your Own people under the bus.

I’m not going to write out all the reasons as to why. But I can’t understand the inferiority complex. Not all black people lived liked slaves. There were many free blacks who never faced slavery. And that’s not counting the ones who revolted, or escaped. Some owners were even killed by their slaves.

Who is she listening to that told her she’s lesser? All you gotta do is not only listen to what you’re told. Do some digging on your own,

that's only if you listen to the idiot box for guidance, if you had strong black parents and strong black family figures you could care less on what media says... In fact you would look down on cacs if you got the right teachings...Than if you people watch you really look down on cacs... Idiot box was for modern day court jesters to entertain you after you finish watching them you turned off tv and went on your real world life

Fam committing a crime is nothing like answering a question in an interview.

She hangs out with a bunch of white sex offenders.. Never insults them.. But puts time , energy, and money to s hit on black males... You can defend the sellout sex offender accomplice if you want to

I’m not arguing any of that. I’m not defending Oprah either.

All I said was that you can’t compare someone touching a child 30 years ago to someone answering a question 30 years ago.

This feels like a reach.

It’s 100% a reach.

Oprah and Gayle have been wilding so niggas is pulling up 20+ year old interviews that are out of context so they can turn outrage into clicks and views.

People fall for it every time.

Oprah and Gayle 100% need to called to task for the way they been moving. But using this interview to justify their behavior as of late is disingenuous.
