Its literally an L shap you are driving. Right before you cross them tracks heading into alameda you cut left and it's a straight shot.

But in general there's Portal, Canã, Aisle 5 was cool but they closed, Grand Lake Kitchen is a nice spot too.
If you can I'd see if the Caribbean folks who cooked at Sweet Fingers are open for business. I believe their spot burned down but bruh started cooking out his home in Berkeley.
Leaving fruitvale, you can make a left turn near Fruitvale BART and Guadalajara which will take you straight to the 60s.

Dimond is alright because it's in a lil tucked off spot on McArthur and the traffic through the area is better. Although that one is smaller and can fill up fast.
Merit IMO has a longer wait time but because it's so busy the food comes hot and fresh. Also by the water so you can go and catch some nice sights after you're done eating. Also a great area to meet singles as many black women workout and parlay there.
If you're near Dimond you should check of Southern Café as well. Black owned and the service is cool.
Filipinas damn near rival the Latinas as far as the amount I see with black men. Only in Berkeley and SF do I see the white/Asian pairings and even then a lot of older black men be on the train and walking the streets with older Asian women.

Don't know what is going on here, but Seminary ave and 68th ave are 8 blocks apart, Fruitvale ave or district is nowhere near that. I don't get in between folks and arguments but I tend to comment where ever Oakland is discussed. But Oakland, geographically speaking is not that large, 10 minutes of driving, not counting traffic, from ANY point in the city in any direction will put you out of Oakland!!! Everything is everything you know, plenty of folks in the Bay Area claim Oakland when they physically may not live within its boundaries, and I'm cool with that, "Tha Bay" tries to be a family. LMBAO!!! And just like real families sometimes folks want to distance themselves from a person when his / her shyt gets heavy, you know what I mean!!! That's when I need for those folks to stick to tha-game, tha-code, and keep reppin' Oakland when our shyt is having problems!!!Don't worry. He lives way out in Hayward, but still trying to claim Oakland.

Now, regarding OP's comment, there may be something to his observation / concerns!!! I too have observed some different behavior(s) from some of my Asian (I hate the term "ASIAN") folks in the "Tha Town". In short, If your familiar with the Jewish ritual "Passover" (marking the entrance to a dwelling with blood to escape the angel of death) that kind of seems to be what is going on relative to Black folks. Ever since BLM really got renewed traction since the Floyd murder, it seems as if folks have started to embrace and engage "Blackness" with a different attitude in preparation for a coming storm!!!
