Nickelodeon Cartoon Insults Black Women's Natural Hair

This is the original version of WINX from Season 1 Episode 12. Nickelodeon has since edited it but the original version is still available online.

SMMFH. we gotta be vigilant 24/7.

can't even let your kids watch cartoons without their minds being poisoned

I be telling my family members

Stop putting the kids alone together in the family room to watch nick, cartoon network, disney etc thinking its,all good!

Unsupervised.

It's NOT.

A few years ago I was waiting for a date to get ready for dinner. I sat in the living room with her daughter watching some kids show on either Disney or Nick. The show had ONE black character that played the stereotype. Fat, loud, and wearing a weave. I brought this up to my date and she seemed indifferent. Needless to say I stopped dating her shortly after that convo.

I don't know if it's on Disney or another network but there is this show where these three kids are ninjas one of them is black. They always have the black kid doing the dumbest shit as the comic relief of the show. He doesn't even know how to be a good ninja. These are the images they are selling to our kids as acceptable behavior for characters who look like us.

There is another show where these black kids are some magicians or ghost or something and they always seem to have the characters doing some stereotypical dumb shit.

Hey Arnold o_O

Thanks for that.

It's still messed up...

So her WHITE friends tell her to be proud of her hair?

White people are a trip.
Like i said... not the way i would've done it. You gotta take into account the people over there arent black. Or they're new blacks. That's the only way i can think of that coulda worked.

But then at the same time in this world it's still..."the best they could do?"

Whats fucked up is the psychology that comes along with it... If a brother would tell her your hair looks beautiful natural, their thinking is, of course you will say that you and your moms have fucked up hair also... But if a white man were to say the same exact thing then that white boy becomes her savior and liberator...
Its even more pronounced with women who were raised to worship a white savior/liberator as their god....
Remember minds are controlled with guilt, fear and shame, notice in our society black men are not allowed to use these tools to shape the behavior of our women, the way men all over the world are, yet via the media and religion the white man is able to use these tools of mind control in order to warp the minds of our women and children...

Peace,

Supah Ninjas, I think. Got the black kid acting like the buffoon despite the fact that he's taller, more athletic and more dynamic than the cracklets. My son brought that to my attention.

No. The only thing that we have to take into account is the fact that these people have waged psychological warfare against us and our children for hundreds of years. They don't get the benefit of the doubt from me.

Peace,

Exactly!
That's it.
I caught my nephew and little cousins watching that show.
I didn't pay attention to it at first but I noticed they always had it on.
Then I sat down to watch it with them after a few episodes I blocked that shit.
Told their mothers not to let them continue watching that show again and explained why.
They get them programmed early real early. They are like sponges for the subconscious bullshit between 1-6.

Aaron McGruder addressed this a few times in his Boondocks strip in a better way:

The Seth MacFarlane produced cartoons (Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad) are the worse for racism but I suppose the effects are less, as the Nickelodeon produced are aimed at young impressionable children.
