NEW YORK (WABC) -- The man accused of stealing $500 from a 3-year-old inside a Bronx liquor store surrendered to police Tuesday.

Warren Hayes, 44, turned himself in after police released surveillance video of the incident last week and later identified him.

The child had just taken the money from his mother's pocket when Hayes allegedly snatched it and ran from the store.

Hayes is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

I ain't saying that it's right that dude ran off with the money, but...

A) How are you going to let your kid pickpocket you like that when you know you have money in there, and...

B) How do you let your kid wander off to the back corner like that unaccounted for? Heck, dude could have swiped the 3 year old, if he really wanted to.

I don't know. I guess I might just be too paranoid about keeping an eye on what your kid is up to, but it's pretty unsettling to think that that kid got got, and basically no one knew about it (or would have known, if not for the camera footage).
