New Music: Ez Mil - Realest with Eminem (Lyrics) (The Game & Melle Mel Diss)

Haven't listened yet but I'm surprised at Mr. "I am a guest in this house" attacking someone who helped lay the foundation. Though there is a big difference between initiating and responding.

On the substance of what he said, as someone who was a black teen in a predominantly white environment when Eminem was at his peak popularity, I always empathized with being a minority in your field and not being fairly judged on the merits. (Of course, being black wasn't a boost for me in the same way being white inarguably made him richer! But listening to the white kids complain about affirmative action that didn't even do anything for me, you'd have thought it was.)

Man listen...Leave the white boy alone. Got damn, jus find somebody else to pick on, cuz he destroys dem muthafucaz in the booth. Just leave'em alone, white or not, he's not 2 be fucced with in the booth. And honestly, Melle deserved to have his ass handed to him...one of the founders or not. Em just finally responded to the disrespect. Melle could never see the white boy on the Mic...so he should have found a better way to critique Mr Mathers.

Thank you for saying this. I was talking to someone about this recently and he was on some “Sit down and respect your elders” type shit. Fuck that! It takes respect to earn respect. I’m glad that someone had the guts to stand up to Mel and defend himself. I get sick of that bullshit. And I know Mel!

My thing is this....

I respect people until they give me a reason not to. Founder or not, Mel said some foul shit and niggas up in arms as if they'd stand for disrespect coming from an old head in real life. Race side, you come for me I'm coming back at you, period. Y'all soft niggas can stand for that if y'all want to, but it ain't in me and never will be.

Em lost his battle to rock and roll rapper
“Was that a death threat or a love letter?”

MGK is a pale imitation, pun intended. I’ve never heard such a complimentary “diss” and Killshot hit much harder.

MGK was still stanning Eminem this year, using his Renegade beat to diss Jack Harlow. That was more like a scrimmage than Ether.

The guest in the house of hip hop was never a minority in his field. He was never unfairly judged on his merits, unless you mean the way he’s been Elvis’d at the expense of Black rappers his whole career.

Melle Mel didn’t diss him. One of the godfathers of rap acknowledged him being talented while addressing white supremacy’s role in elevating him. That fact is significant and not just a “by the way”. Eminem could do a whole album of disses of Melle Mel and it would not change that fact.

Also, Eminem’s junkie ass trying to call Melle Mel a “juice head” is like a carton of skim milk calling a kettle black.

I think the main word that is underused in rapper ranking discussions is subjective. I could reasonably have Nas as #3 and someone else could reasonably have him at 30. A lot of people have Jay-Z #1 but he’s nowhere near top 20 for me because I think his content is subpar.

You could reasonably have Eminem as top 5 or say he’s not even the best from Detroit and rank Royce above him.

Mel didn’t do that from an informed perspective— “I heard one of the dudes that’s down with him, Royce Da 6’9″ or one of those – I heard he’s just as good as Eminem. Why he ain’t as big as Eminem? Because he’s Black!”

Oh, he heard Royce da 6’9 is just as good. He doesn’t even know the dude’s name and he’s saying Eminem objectively is only bigger because of race.

That’s ignorant and pure hate.

Eminem came out 25 years ago and no other white rapper is even close to his status but people will still purely attribute his status to race. Just as some white people say Em is the GOAT but they don’t even listen to other rappers, in both instances he is not being judged on the merits of his work. Which, again, is subjective.

"Mr. Mathers"?

Grandmaster Melle Mel didn't lie.

Whether he misspoke Royce's name or never even heard of him does not negate the fact that this white publication Billboard like other white owned publications like Rolling Stone has always over-celebrated great white hypes to the negation of the Black culture from which the art form came. Before they did that, their white writers outright shit on rap music.

Eminem knows what Melle Mel said is true. That's why he's lashing out.

Melle Mel long ago paid his dues. He's a builder of the house.

Who cares if no other white rapper is close to Eminem's status? Is that some sort of achievement? Are white rappers now an oppressed minority? We as Black folks are now supposed to celebrate the civil rights of white people achieving success in our art forms?

Why do people discount Eminem because he's white? Just because there are better rappers does not take away from Eminem's skills. Is Jay-Z the best rapper? Is Nas? Is Biggie better than Tupac or vice versa? It doesn't matter. They are all dope, and black or white, Eminem is a dope ass rapper.

If Mel wants to talk the way he does, why not put it on wax? He claimed he could out rap Marshall cause he’s “the greatest.”

Show us that then.

I’m glad Em stood up for himself here and frankly rinsed Mel respectfully. You can talk in interviews all day long but the craft is all that matters. Either bring it or keep it moving.

But poke any bear long enough and you gon be tested on what you say.

I finally listened to the track, was waiting to exercise.

The Filipino kid can rap.

The part that stood out the most to me was actually the Gen Z stuff before the Melle Mel part. I was thinking "Wow, I can't believe he is sounding this fucking old now," that whole bit was like it came from MC Amajorfucup.

But then he kind of took it back with the last line and it made me laugh while I was running.

There are three aspects to your post that I don't care for:

1. "Are white rappers now an oppressed minority? We as Black folks are now supposed to celebrate the civil rights of white people achieving success in our art forms?"

This is a strawman argument. It's not honest conversation. Nobody is claiming white rappers are an oppressed minority. I have stated multiple times in this thread that Eminem has benefited from pro-white bias and white fans who overrate him and don't give black rappers a chance or their due.

2. "Whether he misspoke Royce's name or never even heard of him"

No. It is very clear from his words that he has no idea how good of a rapper Royce is. I put the shit in bold and there are not multiple ways of interpreting it.

3. "Grandmaster Melle Mel didn't lie... Eminem knows what Melle Mel said is true."

Like I said, the shit is subjective. You treat it as objective. There are too many great rappers for anyone to be inarguably top 5. I have at least one rapper in my top 5 who I have never heard anyone else say is top 5. I happen to think Eminem is top 5, though I almost certainly would not if I was 20 years older. To say Eminem knows what Melle Mel said is true is just asinine.

You're right about Billboard and Melle Mel's place in history and nobody can force Eminem into your top 5 just like nobody can force Jay-Z into mine. The difference is you don't seem to think anyone can differ with you without being racist or caping for white people and you seem to think your music preferences are objectively correct.

Eminem dissing Melle Mel is like Louis Prima dissing Buddy Bolden.

Why is this happening?
NIGGA!!!!!!! I CAUGHT THAT REFERENCE
