Exactly! My close homies I had real honest conversations with them. Years ago when I wasn't working my homie was like you need to get a job bruh. Or my homie having issues with his girl, I'd tell him flat out you need to treat her better and change some of your ways. We always say to each other, we always keep it real with each other.
 
You can be honest to a friend about their project. But when you’re in a position where your opinion can affect them negatively, just keep your opinion on the project to yourself and don’t give it to the public.

It’s walking a tight rope.

Joe Budden gave his honest opinion about an Eminem album and there were issues.

2 of my closest friends reeled me in. I was out in them streets bad. I kept it from the household but dodged a close call. They helped save a negro's marriage.

but see Eminem Royce and Ortiz and them weren't mad about the SPECIFIC criticism

it was the energy and theatrics Joe had to add to it that pissed folk off.

I have been involved in a few projects where friends want me to watch their movie, read their book script etc listen to their music

a few on bgol

and I am very hesitant and only do it now for a SELECT few

I feel you, every needs an honest opinion. Maino’s not a highly regarded artist and any added negativity in his projects weigh heavily.

I just believe that Maino felt as a friend, you shouldn’t shit on his project publicly. You don’t have to praise it, but speaking on it negatively goes a long way.
