it's easily the worst movie I've seen for a long while, knocking The Magic Roundabout into a cocked hat with its level of awfulness. There wasn't a single character of any interest at all (and I wasn't always sure which one was which), the plot was so monotonous it was ludicrous, the CGI was crap and the lack of even a semblance of historical/evolutionary accuracy was shocking. Those birdy things were around about a million years ago, which was well before 10,000 BC and even Sabre-toothed cats had died out well before Homo Erectus came along, and the juxtaposition of neolithic with iron age is just a joke. Neolithic/copper yes; copper/iron age yes, but the rest... also, presuming it to be set in Africa/Egypt the Egyptians were still Neolithic in 10,000 BC, the Great Pyramid not being built until around 2,500 BC. I could go on, especially about putting the Sahara in the Ice Age, but I'd probably burst a blood vessel.

Any good? I don't recognize 'em.

i wouldn't recommend em otherwise

cashback is about a cat that has a bad breakup and gets insomnia. he gets a job at a grocery store to do something useful with his time and hilarity ensues. it doesn't sound exciting the way i describe it but i don't want to give away anything. you'll have to trust me.

every black man should see traci townsend. it's about one of those "gotta have it all" sista who looks back on her life and wonders why nobody married her. black women will hate it and feel depressed while watching it but black men will laugh the whole time.

And I'm currently enjoying that first season of DAMAGES (the FX NETWORK series. Aired in the U.S. in 2007, and now in Canada from mid-February 2008 onward; we're halfway through the season).

How was Tommy Lee Jones in ELAH? He had a strong 2007/2008 with ELAH/NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. Nominated twice, right?

Gonna try and rent that In The Valley of Elah in June or July. Thanks for the mention. I saw it at the store when I was there on Monday.

By the way ... I picked up EASTERN PROMISES. Free rental through an http://www.airmiles.ca reward coupon. That's some good shit right there. Viggo Mortensen's a hell of an actor (as most of us were already aware of).

Lenny,

I was supposed to see IRON MAN this past Monday but my homie's absent-minded. Went and saw it on Friday, and then went again with some foster kids he takes care of on Monday.

Thank your realness in your warning. I'm really leary with Hollywood interpretation of (African) history.

Saw the Incredible Hulk premiere last night. 400 + people ... got a round of applause afterward. Good collection of people in the audience too. Youngest there had to have been 6 years of age. The eldest was some grandfather in his early-80s a few rows ahead of us. People were feelin' it.

I was happily surprised! I took my 4 year-old son to check it out and I thought I was going to be bored, but that shit was sick. The Kung-Fu action parts are top notch. They didn't hold back! It's almost as if they forgot they were making a kiddie movie when those action sequences were made. Every animal does the style of Kung-Fu that was named after them, so the Tiger does Tiger style, Crane does Crane style etc., etc. It was also funny.

Glad you liked it, bro. Sounds good. PANDA / ZOHAN / HULK are gonna be doing well at the box office the next few weeks ... and then July 18th ... THE DARK KNIGHT will straight own the summer. Word.

Movies i recommend.

The air i breathe, i checked it out by accident, glad i did, good story, good action, its new to dvd.

The life of David Gale, it was recommended on this site, i got it and as i saw that kevin spacey was in it i knew it would be good, go watch it.

Shottas, if you from the islands, or like the jamaican/scarface/mob type movies, you will love this, very authentic and real.

Shoot them up, is this shit, pure and simple.

The brave one, i did not want to rent it but i did, GREAT fucking movie, watch that, dont read the story and you will love it, good action and story.

michael Claton was good.

Untraceable, should have be named "Unwatchable".

The crazy thing about that one was that in late-May they had 2 entire racks devoted to that shit and most copies were out. More than any other flick in the store (and there were other, much bigger movies). My bro said to me - "Just going off looks - I'm thinking that shit must be good - 2 racks and they're almost all out?" - I told him "peeps on BGOL said it was shitty!" - he asked what the fuck BGOL is/was :lol::lol:

The life of David Gale is good shit.

Shottas is a BGOL classic from years back. We posted the Asian titties on AGOL back in the day.

Shoot 'Em Up - so many mixed reviews on that one.

Michael Clayton - wanna see it. Chick won Supporting Actress of the Year for that one. Tilda Swinton's her name, if I remember correctly.

The Air I Breathe + The Brave One - thanks for their respective mentions. Been meaning to check them both out.
