speaking of AB, i was lucky enough to catch Pain and Glory on Starz

such a beautiful movie
full of longing
As i get older, i understand exactly what the director was trying to portray.

warning: homosexual themes, but it doesnt take away from just how good this movie is

7.5/10

PRAISE: There was some controversy when the trailer for this flick dropped that Shia LaBeouf was doing "brownface"
And later on Director David Ayer stated Shia is playing a white man - although the character is heavily influenced by Latinx culture.
I'm still not sure if this was mentioned in the film.
The story is about 2 enforcers collecting their cuts from the profits of local gangs
But they soon discover everyone is not going to fall in line and there's always someone who is a bit tougher and that has more reach Bobby Soto and Shia LaBeouf
turn in intense performances, theres some nice eye candy and visuals.I enjoyed the conversations between the 2 main characters

PROBLEMS: The story was just lacking
Nothing about the film took hold of me and I found myself distracted
Sometimes Ayer does well with "buddy" movies like this but unfortunately this is just basic
It was mainly people making threats and dying about 5 minutes after making the threat or talking tough
Some of the violence was just cartoonish and unintentionally funny
I'm not even sure why one character took so much time to kill someone
Back in the day Steven Seagal would kill a henchman like the one in this film in 2 seconds !!

Something I recently learned and want to share. If you have a VPN subscription(Which you should) use an IP from out of the USA like Switzerland, France, Canada etc then log into your Netflix etc account. Wow! There’s so much extra content they offer that’s not available in U.S. markets.

Checked it out yesterday too. I think the challenge now with movies is that there isn't much back story or character development ... enough to care about the people involved. With so many good TV series running 45 minutes to an hour plus ... for 5 - 12 episodes a season, they have more opportunity to develop their cast. Reason to care about the primary & secondary people. An hour and a half is too short ... as it's basically like 1.5 - 2 episodes of a season.

For the MMA fans - keep an eye out for Brian Ortega and briefly, Brendan Schaub.

Enjoyed seeing Cinthya Carmona in the movie. Fine as fuck. Was unfamiliar with her prior work. Very nice DSLs.

Decent movie, not great or good but not necessarily bad. All the budget probably went to that shoot out in the end.

A coworker suggested I see this Mel Brooks film. I've always said that Spaceballs was his funniest film. Even though I've only seen a few not all. I remember not liking Blazing saddles.

So I checked the movie and it was just alright. To me Space balls still holds up.
There's still a couple of movies I haven't seen (Life stinks and Young Frankenstein).

The movie came out in 2013, About Time with Rachel McAdams. I'm not going to say anything about it because I don't want to ruin it. It's based in the UK so they speak differently than we do

if you're married or dating , or you just want to see a good movie you should check this one out

I remember seeing the trailer for this one & wanting to check it out. I was gonna add the trailer here, but like you said - it might say / reveal too much for those who may give it a look.

About Time is a 2013 British romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Richard Curtis,[4][5] and starring Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy. The film is about a young man with the ability to time travel who tries to change his past in hopes of improving his future.[6] The film was released in the United Kingdom on 4 September 2013.[7] The film received mixed reviews from critics.[8][9] At the box office, it grossed $87.1 million against a $12 million budget.

This is actually quite good
worth a watch
lots of star power for a none blockbuster

clive owen, rosemund pike, common

common was the weak link
I thought he was a better actor than he displayed here
but he really struggled to play a convincing homicide detective

anyways
decent watch
6.5/10

I wouldnt pay to see it
but if its on TV I would watch again

PROJECT POWER

PILL POPPING PLEASURE

PRAISE: When you walk into a GNC there are pills on the shelves for almost anything but nothing like whats featured in the film Project Power
The cast including Jamie Foxx ,Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dominique Fishbackall turn in good performances in this story about family, Louisiana and oh yeah superpowers
Director Henry Joost and writer Mattson Tomlin create a world in which popping a power pill can either be fatal or give you various super powers.
Things are kept on a high pace and the 2 hour run time flies by with some great action sequences and SFX.The film never loses its sense of fun with dramatic moments weaved in.
I was actually shocked by some of the graphic violence which may not be for the faint of heart.

PROBLEMS: Some parts of the movie are been there done that old hat.The movie introduces some cool story threads and ideas but doesn't use them as much as i would have liked.
Once again there is not much to the main villain in the film and something great could have been done with that too.

This is one of those movies that could have definitely worked well as a series IMO but hopefully a sequel is being planned.

Watched the Red Penguins documentary yesterday, and the Red Army one earlier this year. Both pretty good. Lots of shitshow, WTF moments in the Red Penguins one. A quick watch at approx' 1 hour, 20 mins too.
