Months of film festivals, red carpets, and predictions have all led to this moment, as the Academy unveils the nominations for the 2023 Oscars on Tuesday morning.
Announced by actors Allison Williams (M3GAN) and Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal), ABC's televised rollout is poised to turn high-profile contenders into Oscar nominees, following a contentious race that included everything from prestige gems (Everything Everywhere All at Once, TÁR, The Fabelmans) and major blockbusters (Top Gun: Maverick, Avatar: The Way of Water) to late-breaking international dramas like All Quiet on the Western Front.

The network will again broadcast the upcoming Oscars, with Jimmy Kimmel returning to host after previously serving as emcee for the 2017 and 2018 ceremonies, with Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner producing the ceremony.
"All I will say is that we're moving forward. It's going to be a return to a show that's about a love of cinema, international cinema, diverse artists. And it's our 95th Oscars, so there are going to be some great legacy surprises," Academy CEO Bill Kramer teased in September of the upcoming show.

The 95th Academy Awards will air Sunday, March 12, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC. Before then, see the full list of 2023 Oscar nominations below.

Banshees was ok, wouldn't watch again. Colin was good.
EEAAO, fell asleep on it and then woke up and rewinded it. Shit was boring and overrated. The lead actress was good though.
Turned off Top Gun.
No interest in seeing an Elvis movie.
Fuck this list. I just want the black people to win.

I agree. I just want black people to win. Top Gun was good though but the rest of that shit I really wasn't interested in and I'm not going to watch a goddamn Elvis movie.
Give Angela what she’s due.
You think they're going to give Angela Bassett a makeup Oscar the way they did with Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman?

They should have given him the Oscar for Godfather Part 2 instead of Art Carney. Denzel deserved the Oscar for Malcolm X, and they did a makeup giving him the Oscar for training day

I hope so. And I hope she receives it in a dignified manner like Denzel gets his. None of that cryin “thank you Mr white man for this statue” nonsense.

Ms Bassett is a slam dunk if there ever was one. Austin should win as Elvis he was so good at times when they did flash backs with actual Elvis footage you to really pay attention to really see if it was Austin or Elvis. I have no idea of best picture,I gotta see more of them when screeners hit.Anything with visuals effects is a one movie category,Avatar for my money is the greatest visual movie ever made.

They should've given it to Dustin Hoffman for Lenny that year. I haven't seen Harry and Tonto but Lenny and Chinatown were great performances by the leads. To me, De Niro made a bigger impression in Godfather Pt 2 than Pacino.

I haven't seen Lenny or Harry and Tonto, but Chinatown Was great. I might watch that tonight

DeNiro was great and Godfather Part 2 but he wasn't even nominated for that role which he likely should have been. At that point in his career Al Pacino was acting and not screaming his roles He relied more on the subtlety and nuances of acting more so than a bombastic over the top delivery

Most definitely Pacino was at the top of his game at this point in his career. I think he began to go downhill after Scarface. I know it's a classic but it's simplistic even for a De Palma film. Any actor could've pulled it off because it was basically an action film. That's probably why rappers love it.

As for Lenny, Hoffman really channeled Bruce in that role. I was convinced he really
died of an overdose
because the film was so visceral and authentic.

I'm mad my downloading laptop died because I would have downloaded Lenny from a torrent site tonight
