The Creed story is safe in Michael B. Jordan’s big, strong hands. The star of the boxing epic and its sequel will direct the upcoming third installment, Creed III. Co-star Tessa Thompson confirmed the reports of his side gig in an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz. It will be Jordan’s directorial debut, taking the reins from Ryan Coogler and Steven Caple Jr. who directed the first and second films, respectively. Jordan will also return as the indomitable boxer Adonis Creed. Tessa Thompson, who plays Creed’s love interest, Bianca, said filming is planned for 2021. It’s currently unclear if Sylvester Stallone will join the ninth installment in the Rocky legacy, which dates back to the original 1976 Academy Award winner. Zach Baylin, the writer behind King Richard, the story of Venus and Serena Williams’s father and coach, wrote the script. Michael B.

Jordan is currently enjoying his reign as People’s Sexiest Man Alive, but he might feel differently once on set. “It’s going to be ammo, I think, for me when he is engaging with me as a director,” Tessa Thompson conspired with MTV. “I’m just going to tell him to dial down the sexiness.” For your sake and the sake of husbands everywhere, Tessa!

Ummm no, and his character is fucking dead. Plus he damn near destroyed the kingdom. This is the shit that I hate about this black panther movie (which was an ok film) they made the king weak and dependant. T'challa was a stronger more focused character in civil war.

What I’m saying is, yes his CHARACTER died but HIM AS A ACTOR can be black Panther.

we gatta like 10 James Bond’s.

Bro how would that even work ? The MCU story is told in linear form the bond films are not. this suggestion of making him black panther is utterly ridiculous it would make absolutely no sense at this point.

Hope this nigga ain’t fighting Clubber Lang Jr in this shit. Storyline really has nowhere to go but he getting two checks so more power to him.

Michael B. Jordan is eyeing a major new opponent.

EW has confirmed that Lovecraft Country and Da 5 Bloods breakout Jonathan Majors is in early talks to step into the ring for Creed III.
Deadline first reported that the actor, who is already set for a major role in the next Ant-Man film, would play the next opponent for Adonis Creed (Jordan). Admittedly, the casting of Majors as a still unknown character was not on EW's 2018 dream list of possible Apollo nemeses.

In addition to reprising his lead role in the Rocky spin-off series, Jordan will be making his directorial debut with Creed III. Although, the biggest news for the upcoming installment is probably who won't be there, as Rocky himself, Sylvester Stallone is stepping away after 40-plus years, six Rockys, and two Creeds.

"I just want to thank everyone around the whole wide world for taking the Rocky family into their hearts for over 40 years," Stallone wrote on Instagram upon the 2018 release of Creed II. "It's been my ultimate privilege to have been able to create and play this meaningful character. Though it breaks my heart, sadly all things must pass… and end. I love you kind and generous people, and the most wonderful thing of all, is that ROCKY will never die because he lives on in you."
