A female contestant from a popular Mexican television dating show was found strangled inside her apartment on Tuesday.

Mexico City police responding to a foul odor report found the lifeless body of Nataly Michel Rodríguez Romero lying on her bedroom floor.

The 25-year-old woman appeared on TV Azteca's live broadcast of its reality show, 'Enamorándonos', Spanish for 'Falling in Love'.

Authorities said the victim's body showed signs that she was choked to death, according to local media reports.

The program has has been on the air since October 2016.

Contestants on the show are known as 'amorosos' or 'lovers' and they answer questions from their prospective dates before deciding if they will go out with them or not.

The show made headlines - albeit on the negative side - when Mexican magazine TVNotas reported that female participants from the reality show and a former producer, the Argentina native Hernán Albarenque, were involved in a prostitution ring.

A source close to the production of the program told the publication in April that various people on the outside were hiring female contestants aged as young as '18 and as old as 23' to perform sexual favors.

They earned them as much as 11,000 Mexican pesos, approximately $600, for an entire night of pleasure minus the 30 percent tax they had to shell o

Mexican magazine TVNotas reported that female contestants from the 'Enamorándonos' reality show and its former producer, the Argentina native Hernán Albarenque (pictured), were involved in a prostitution ring. DailyMail reached out to him for comment

'The lowest, according to this, starts at 1,500 pesos [$79] for one hour; 7,000 pesos [$316] for five hours, and they give them 4,000 [$210]; and up to 10,000 pesos [$526] for the whole night, and they receive 7,000 [$368],'
the person said, according to TVNotas.

The leaders of the prostitution cell allegedly zeroed on victims who they figured were the 'most vulnerable, who had family problems or lived alone and had economic needs ... that were single.'

The source also said that the ring leaders not only hired Mexican nationals but also foreigners living in Mexico, especially Venezuelan women 'because they were very attractive for the clients.'

The prostitution escapades took place in the resort city of Acapulco but the foreign workers were ferried off to Cancún, Playa del Carmen, la Riviera Maya.

The women were forced to work for 24 hours a day and only were allotted an hour of free time so that they could eat. But they had to remain secluded and out of the public eye because their bosses feared the would be easily identified since they had appeared on the reality show.

Rodríguez Romero's shocking death comes three weeks after former Miss Uruguay beauty queen, Fatimih Dávila, was found hanging in her apartment's bathroom in Mexico City. Her death was ruled a suicide.

Officials believe the building where she was found dead in was actually a base for human traffickers who forced women to have sex with its paying clientele.

The Mexico City Attorney General's office is currently investigating Rodríguez Romero's death, but no arrests have been made.

DailyMail contacted TV Azteca and Albarenque for comment.

Y'all know how it works. These chicks weren't getting the whole 600$.

approximately $600, for an entire night of pleasure minus the 30 percent tax they had to shell out.

thats about 420.00

420/23 = 18.26 per hour w/ unpaid break.

The women were forced to work for 24 hours a day and only were allotted an hour of free time so that they could eat.
