Mary J. Blige attends the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on Jan. 21, 2018 in Los Angeles.

The icon breaks a tie with Gerald Levert to claim first place among all acts.

As Mary J. Blige’s “Only Love” lifts 11-10 on the Adult R&B Songs chart (dated Sept. 8), the veteran diva secures an unprecedented 23rd top 10 hit on the airplay chart, breaking a tie with Gerald Levert to claim first place to herself.

“Love” ascends on the chart despite a 4 percent dip in plays in the week ending Sept. 2, according to Nielsen Music.

Blige first appeared on the very first Adult R&B Songs ranking in 1993 (chart dated Sept. 18) with “Love No Limit,” about 16 months after her first professional release. “Limit” was the first of Blige’s 56 Adult R&B Songs chart entries, another record among all acts. That total contains six No. 1s; her first was “Not Gon’ Cry,” from the film soundtrack to Waiting to Exhale, which ruled for four weeks in March 1996. She most recently led with “U + Me (Love Lesson),” a three-week champ in May 2017.

In honor of the record-breaking feat, here’s a rundown of Blige’s 23 top 10s on the Adult R&B Songs chart, dating to its inception.

Yeah, it's the sample she used so I'm sure she cleared it. If they own the publishing they'll see some money.
