I deleted my two previous post about this because of an ex coworker is on this board and he posted something in there and I had to clear it up super quick. Sorry about that guys but….. I looked over my TMO severance package in those motherfuckers are gave me $67,000 to walk out the door. (and that doesn’t include my 401(k) ).

But here’s the fucked up thing. I got a text message from a senior manager this morning “on a fucking Saturday” to call him and he was asking me would I consider coming back but your tenure will star over and you have to give back the severance. The fuck??? You know I told him I’m not interested. Man the last three days has been a crazy is three days in my fucking adult life. These motherfuckers could ask me to take a pay cut… and depending on how much do was cutting I would have consider it. I know a few of you guys would consider going back in the situation but no I love my work, but I despise working for TMO. For the first time in two years, I don’t have stress.

I don’t drink, but I’m really considering sipping something right now because the ghost of TMO is going to bug me for a few weeks.

I'm with you on this Easy_B, keep the money, find another job and don't look back.

You Did Right.....No Way In Hell You Should Have the Clock Restart on Your Tenure
That’s the main reason why I put up with TMO in the first place. That shit hit my head spinning for a minute earlier this morning. I went down the street and got Waffle House and I feel better now.

Yeah man, they should’ve thought about this shit before they leave me off. I’m going to say this, though they gave me a nice parachute, jumping out the window. It’s not golden, but it’s solid. Like I told you guys I never enjoyed working for TMO but I did enjoy my job for the 24 years. The nerve of them want me to give back that severance in two fucking days to come back as a lower income tear person….they kiss my ass  This shit had my mama dying laughing when I told her this bullshit earlier.

Man, they don’t know I don’t have children I am not married, so I’m not desperate. And after I seen the severance package and the amount of money they are giving me …….shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

Man, I wanted to curse the shit out of him, but I knew it wasn’t his call because I actually was cool with this senior manager. He’s a good guy to use for references so I’m not going to ruffle his feathers too much.

T-Mobile is laying off 5,000 employees, or about 7% of its workforce, the company announced Thursday.
The layoffs will happen over the next five weeks and mostly affect corporate roles and some technology roles. Impacted roles are ones that are "primarily duplicative to other roles, or may be aligned to systems or processes that are changing, or may not fit with our current company priorities," T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said in a letter to employees.
Employees will receive notice of whether they've been impacted by the end of September. Sievert said he does not anticipate additional widespread layoffs in the "foreseeable future."

Sievert said it costs more money to attract and keep customers than it did in the past few quarters and that the layoffs will help the company streamline its operations.
Laid off employees will receive severance pay based on their tenure, along with at least 60 days of paid transition leave.
"We have zero intention of being a faceless – or heartless – company in a situation that is already difficult," Sievert said.
In 2019, T-Mobile merged with Sprint and said the move would provide 11,000 new jobs by 2024, which the company called not a goal, but a fact. It criticized economists who predicted T-Mobile would have to cut jobs.

They said that bullshit last year.

Man, what you do in this scenario is issue a a ridiculous counter offer. tell them its all business and no hurt feelings.
you would LOVE to come back but require
-keep the walk away money as compensation (for your mental pain/embarassment/etc...whatever you want to put in here)
-keep your seniority and tenure or whatever status you were when you asked to leave.
-request a increase in oay due to the longevity , loyalty, and quality of your work.
-negotiate with them mofos....they need you right now. and get all that shit in writing like a true executive...i seen them do this sit dozens of times depending on how great the need is for that company. you can feel them out and get something back in the process that might allow you to retire from the company doing a job you love.

watch that movie margin call, when they let the one guy go that blew the whistle then strong armed him to get hi to come back to work for one day until the could offload all the bs MBS's and they had leverage over him. they dont have leverage over you.

Balls in your court player.

No negotiation because I really didn’t like TMO. I love my job that I did over 24 years but I did not like working for TMO.

He called you over the phone to tell you that shit so you couldn't spit in his face or punch him in his mouth. Fuck that job. Take the package and let them fuck off.

He was one of the good managers, so I really didn’t have a beef with him. But when he told me tenure will start over. I was like no thank you. They laid off six people who I knew was at the top of a pay scale, and been around over 20 years. TMO is try to shed a lot of money from their books. This is why I was a little surprised I got the severance I got.

im feeling this post bc something similar happened to me on a contract job that i was on for 5 yrs even though tried to fuq me over, it backfired on them. i was hired to become a supervisor/team lead, but there was a delay with changing over some paperwork and the PM didnt want to wait, so they allowed another person to become the supervisor before i got there. no hard feelings bc i was still getting the pay in the contract....well lets just say the new sup didnt manage things too well and got caught up in the work by doing too many favors and let the team's work get out of hand and outside the scope of work...big no no in contracting. dude was overwhelmed bc he didnt see it coming and finally ended up leaving and taking another in the same building with same pay but less stress. which left the team with no supervison...LOL....LMAO...so the deputy PM came in and asked if i wanted the position since i was hired in at that level... politely declined, noting that they wanted me to come in and try to clean up the mess that was made after he left...it was a clusterfuq of magnificent proportions. i wasnt touching that mess with a 10 ft pole without significant compensation...i asked for a 15k raise for shits and giggles to feel them out and the PM told me was not going to get it. finally they hired another guy for the position and made his life a living nightmare. i tried to warn him but he plowed n with young enthusiasm.....didnt listen...and got made at me bc i was making more money, doing the same work, and leaving on time everyday without the stress of BS after action meetings and reports to do. when the contract came back up for recompete and the company won, they had to take a cut but couldnt cut me bc we were short personnel. these mofos lit up like christmas when i told them i was leaving for nother position. the new PM didnt want to say it but he and i both knew that they couldnt get rid of me due to seniority, hard to find skillset, and operational knowledge which the new people didnt have to get things done.
i left and within a month they were video calling me back talking about how desperate they were to find someone to fill the position and did i have any recommendations. my first instinct was to tell them go visit that small island off the coast of neverland called "etadik". but i was cool and told them that they could have me back for the asked for pay increase....the look on that mofos face was priceless....they stopped calling...LOL. im still not fully recovered but it wont take me much longer to get there.

So the question is, what you gonna do with the bread?

Invest it in a biz or just pay bills for the next few months and got back to a 9-5?

I’m going to do something with it but in the meantime, while I’m getting bread for a few months, I’m going to see what else is out there so I can get two paychecks for a few months
