Grouper are great to eat and great to fish for sport.
gotta be careful of the ones you decide to keep.
even a 30 pound grouper isnt mature and could land you in jail if you're caught trying to keep it.

I love all of these (never heard of hog fish), but i also love Cod, and Chilean Sea bass. Ill take some Whiting too if its cooked right.
I am slightly hood so I like catfish but the best fish to me on that list is red snapper Yum
Snapper was tops until I had grouper, king fish ain’t a push over either...
for the easy to get fish flounder is nice also...
for the hood side of my area, we have a fish called Choupie here in the swamps of Da Boot, other call it bowfin....the best fresh/swamp water fish around....

Get some Paul prudhomme seafood seasoning. Or I bought some preseasoned fish fry stuff. Hot oil. Tartar or hot sauce. Cole slaw. Fries. My Midwest peeps would have spaghetti.

Mayo
Mustard
Pickle relish
Sometimes celery
Agreed, those are my favs as well. Just gotta be careful about the mercury though for most of them.
