I always thought rhinos could take hippos easily

To be fair, the lion wasn't really trying to attack it. It kinda looked like the lion got curious, and jetted as soon as it saw what it was poking at was a hippo.

True. Rhinos are on the lower end of animals in Africa NOT to be fucked with. Three of the most dangerous animals who kill the most people in Africa are not predators: Hippo, Elephant, and Cape Buffalo - with the Cape Buffalo always having a nasty attitude. It understood that as long as it was low to the ground the buffalo couldnt do shit. I think thats one of the reasons it kept laying down over an over. that and because of the injuries/lack of energy.
