I watched the games this weekend (I haven't watched a whole football game in years) and noticed a difference in the players too. Seemed like more tatoos, a lot more players with dreads, even more thicker facial hair. But that doesn't read "Crips & Bloods" to me. It reads "black men who have dominated the culture of a profession for long enough that they no longer have to give a fuck about white-middle-class norms of dress and appearance." Same shit happened in the NBA. Only a problem for the uptight among us.

Totally agree on the first point. Defensive players in the NFL spend so much energy on post play celebrations, head bashes, high fives and jump shots, its no wonder they have no energy to stop 4th quarter drives. I'm sick of seeing second stringers on D and special teams act like their one play saved the season.
On the other part..can't say, I've never seen a football game between bloods and crips...maybe it would look like the scene in that movie where the Ducky Boys came to start a rumble at the football game...

I think he had a small, small valid point in, the coonery of T.O and Ocho Cinco, not to mention fools wearing ice cube sized earrings in the game, the cornrows and tattoos, etc have left a bit of a stain on most would just like to see them play the game, ease off the clowning, collect the checks and go home. but, you need Clinton Portis and his fucking costumes, T.O in his driveway, Chad Johnson with his blonde mohawk and coonish ass dancing they somebody shooting at his feet! Every sport is gonna have "personalities" and best believe, the people marketing these leagues want those personalities. A league full of cats with buzz cuts walking around with their heads down on some "no sir, yes sir" shit would NOT sell to anyone but the most diehard of fans (contrary to popular belief, the majority of sports "fans" go for the entertainment value, not so much the sport itself). Cats with hypercompetetive personalities and overblown testosterone and adreneline levels are gonna be characters, these dudes aren't robots. They have done studies and cited that the average professional athlete (especially in heavy contact sports like football and boxing), would end up in jail if he didn't have that sport to burn off his excess juice.
And to be honest, nobody would give a shit about ANY of these cats if they were all white, same goes for basketball. The problem is RICH negroes not showing enough humility (like fuckin' rich people are known for being humble). That's why the argument is always "Why can't they just shut up and do their job?" or "Why does a defensive lineman make more than my mailman?". If the owners made all the money and the players were brought into the arena in chains like big black bucks, the same people that complain would LOVE these sports.
Sports is the last major bastion of open OVERT racism. Don't believe me, check out ANY sports board or call in radio show for a few minutes and listen/read the comments.
