Good point. People do need to understand that basic success in business or career IS attainable with hard luck.

But to become the President, pro athlete or a billionaire business man takes a HUGE amount of luck and connections.

Taking a thousand shots a day will still no take you Lebron.

I hate that phrase that you can become anything you want if you put your mind to it. Bullshit

I think that is something that should be said to kids, it's good to instill that in them so the can make the right moves early in life.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying people shouldn't pursue their dreams/goals, however for grown folks if you are not already on that path I think motivation should be a little more grounded in reality.

Dude I've seen people go back to school in their 30s and 40s and meet their objectives in life. I believe homie has a really self defeated view of life overall with that statement, wonder what was instilled in him growing up or what type of failure he's experienced in life personally to make him see shit that way, but ultimately he's a cool Dude and I'd never disrespect him. I just don't agree with his logic is all...

I do not know if that dude was a billionaire back then or not. But if he was then it is about keeping the money controlled by certain genes. That son of a bitch is white. We send out kids to school for them to implant goals and desires in their minds.
You can be what you want to be in America as long as these devils control you. They had one black man that was breaking that control around 2000 years ago and he was killed for that purpose.
Black people first goal should be to take the south (black belt states with fertile soil). Today we have all kind of buildings all over the world. At one time most of the buildings looked the same all over the world. They were pyramids. There is a mystery to who built them and how they built them. With all this technology booming right now and for the last hundred years they still cannot duplicate a pyramid with their multi ton stones.
Separation should be our first goal and the goal of our kids.
If Jeff Bezos was black he would be in a super max prison like Larry Hoover is or they would have killed him like they did Dr. King. Amazon is a success because they are not going to use any profits to change things.

Yeah, he was definitely a multi-Billionaire at the time of that pic/screencap.

Truth is, what I see in that picture is the PRINCIPLE of, never being satisfied, always be about your grind, and never let anyone or any circumstance be the cause of you not giving 100% effort and steal your passion, i.e. control you.

We can all find excuses or 'reasons' to deflect focus, but ultimately what that leads us to is mediocre living, under-achieving lives and creating generations of whiners and blamers.

I don't even care if Dude was rich or not when he started amazon, and if he was, that further exemplifies the principles of what I see in this picture. A lot of us, when we arrive 'a little bit' get complacent and comfortable. If this dude was already very wealthy, and still had the focus and drive to build Amazon into what it is today, thats a principle of work ethic and unwavering passion I want to instill in my son and those around me...

Fuck any and all deflective excuses... Focus on you passion, and be about your business... plain and simple Bruh...

cut the crap man, jeff was already crazy rich when he started amazon. it's different for a regular guy who started with nothing and built himself a multi million empire. my uncle started his farm business from the ground up with his own money, he now is a multi millionaire farmer in Canada.

why 2 usernames though? just stick with one. no need for multiple names.

Hey, Fuck Nuts,

I started in late 1998 with a username that I don't even remember the name because I wasn't active on the board.

Around 2002, I came back to the board with the name CoTtOnMoUf and it's the ONLY name that I've had since.

You should NOT worry so much about usernames and focus on losing a couple hundred lbs of that lard on your ass.

Fuck you with your dumb ass defeated logic and by extension your uncle. Reading your post actually explains a lot about who you are and how you've even allowed you bad habits to cause you to become so sickly and extremely diabetic. :giggle:

I actually feel bad for people like you, the nothing to live for types... Being so obviously fucked up must really be a miserable existence. I can't even imagine what it must be like to go through life with my hands literally balled up in an involuntary fist all the damn time!?!?! Jeezus! :smh:

Too late for him man, his arteries are already hardened and his clock is ticking. When diabetes deforms you like it has him, it's really a matter of time. Fool hands are all knuckle and gristle at this point... :smh:

He's actually trying to deflect and troll this thread too, which is why I won't even be replying to him anymore here. I'm not mad at him either, what's being talked about here is something he can't relate to or benefit from. His life expectancy being so fucked up and him probably living in constant pain and all. Sad actually :smh:

I believe you can but you have to get started young enough with grinding to have an exponential advantage over the competition. If Tiger Woods decided he wanted to be a great golfer at 15 versus his Dad introducing it to him at like 3, I don't think he becomes the great he was.

Great example, but I'd have to still disagree. Millions of people worldwide introduce their children to golf at their infancy. My guestimate would be that 99% don't have strong interest and leave the club on the.6th hole. Of those left, out of that million, 2,000 take that skill to high school. 300 are good enough to get scholarships. Twenty make the tour. One becomes the next Tiger Woods.

Just my guestimate.

Talent and hard work (and I mean real god damn hard work, George Gervin was known to take 1,000 shots a day) may be enough to get you to that very good level. Meaning scholarships, a solid business, a career as a doctor.

But a top ten golfer, the next Dell, even a Trump (forgive me) is not probable. People lose their lives, family, friends and fortune chasing the improbable.

I think we're saying the same thing. You can be great at anything under the 10,000 hour rule premise (as long as you start early enough) but it doesn't mean you'll be the greatest. Jordan was 6'6. Beyonce was gorgeous. Tiger was black (lol). Ray Krock met the McDonald's brothers.

So you may not be the president if you put your mind to it but you can be the mayor of Atlanta if groomed for it early enough lol.

Amazon was founded in 94 and went public in 97. I don't know what his net worth was in 99, but that would have been before the crash so I could see it being true.

Luck always plays a part. I may be willing accept that hard work and will can get you rich, but that's a long way from being 1st or 2nd richest person in the world.

He also went to Princeton and worked on wall street for years before starting Amazon. I am sure there were some essential connections made along the way.

As far as tech billionaires go, I think Jobs is the most motivational since he probably had the most humble beginnings of all of them. However, he still had a leg up on most.

I get the sentiment of the post, but I think the glofication of statistically unattainable success probably does more harm than good in the long run.

Well said homie. But it's not statistically unattainable success. It's may not be likely or probable but it is attainable. The number of successful tech billionaires has been increasing.

I dont think the logic here is to be the greatest, but to stay focus and grind your way to achieving your goals in life. When people start adding layers to things, I believe its really a self soothing method to justify why they have underachieved in life really.

Im sure nobody was telling Mugsy Bogues at 14 that he would have a long NBA career but he didnt let his limitations keep him from making it... According to some of the logic here he should have just looked in the mirror and the team pictures and said fuck it....

Im really sad when I hear broken spirit logic like Ive read from a few folks here.... Explains a lot tho... :smh:
