Kevin Durant: I thought championship would fill void, but it didn’t

So was he one of the best 4's or a top 10 player? Because those are two very different assertions. And i never called the guy a bum. But we arent gonna pretend he was a top 10 player at any point in his career.

Kobe
Dirk
Russ
Lebron
Wade
Rose
Durant
Melo
Duncan...

Yea he would've been in my top 10 then.....

The league then wasn't as deep as it is now.

Back then....Amare Stoudamire and Manu Ginobilli were making ALL NBA Teams and shit.

This. Durant is a bitch and will always be one. What a fag. He wouldn't last in the 90s. They would've shit talked him to suicide. The last of the Alphas retired with KG, Kobe, and Duncan (quiet Alpha). These hoes in the league now disgust me

Y'all kill me with the "Bitch" and "fag" shit. Dude did what was best for him. Its like y'all mad he didn't do what y'all wanted him to do.

Both you niggas are beyond retards if you think what he and Bron did are remotely similar. One guy left a MVP caliber top 5 teammate on a contending team and joined a 73 win title team (that he just blew a 3-1 lead against ) with 3 all NBA guys and a two time league MVP. The other left a team full of shit after 7 years of executive incompetence and joined a lottery team and made them champs. When Bron left Miami they turned back into a pumpkin.. If KD leave GSW, they are still odds on favorites to win it all. Foh.
Lebron left to join the third best player in the league at that time and a potential hall of famer at that time. You have no idea what you're talking about. None.

Y'all kill me with the "Bitch" and "fag" shit. Dude did what was best for him. Its like y'all mad he didn't do what y'all wanted him to do.

I won't call him names for doing what he felt was best for him... But my issue was he expected everyone else to approve of what he did and got pissy when it didn't happen. To me, that makes me believe he did it for acceptance, not because it was what he really wanted to do. You stand tall by your choice and accept whatever comes with it. Good or bad. Durant has been acting the a chick spread far and wide being upset because she's treated like a whore.

Man gtfoh.. He was NEVER top ten... And if you have a problem with Amare making all NBA then you should be outraged that Al fuckin Hortford is a NBA all star.

Oh, and off top of my head... CP3, Paul Pierce, KG, Dwight, Nash... are missing. Again, Bosh was NEVER top 10. Its ok to admit this.

Right. I don't even fault him for doing it. I didn't like it but shit he did what was best for him. But to pretend like what he did was different than what KD did is just some fanboy biased shit. They pulled the same move. KD joined a great team. Lebron, Bosh and Wade decided to join forces since they could no longer get a title by themselves.

Empty feeling because it was an "empty" title.

I bet had he stayed in OKC and they won one, the feeling would have been different.

WTF did he think would happen, joining an already established team and riding them to a championship?
He didn’t ride them but he didn’t fuck it up either. Too bad he can’t find that balance.

Next stop.

3rd best player in the league who couldnt make the playoffs in the East? 3rd best player who had recently had a 20 win season on the books? Interesting.

Naw they wasn't better than Bosh at that point. KG and Pierce were past their prime as was Steve Nash. Dwight was debatable. Chris Paul I'd say was better too. Aight. Bosh was top 11. Not top 10. My mistake.

Apparently it wasn't what was best because he still didn't fill the void..... Cause he didn't earn it. Jordan, Bird, Magic, Zeke, ect..... They all wanted to BEAT each other not PLAY with each other. They were all ALPHA'S. Beta bitch Durant and Bron want the whole 2016 Olympic team to play with em. Quit justifying beta bitch activity.

Beta bitch = hey you came in 5th place here's dam near the same trophy as first place

Ehhh.....I'm not sure. I say he did what was best for him because I'd rather play for the Warriors than I would the Thunder. Mind you, at that time everyone kept speculating that Westbrook was going back to Cali to play.
He hasn't handled it well. He's been on some hoe shit. I Think he even made like a Twitter profile to defend himself and shit? That's wild as fuck.

HE was a young dude at the time. I can't knock him too hard for it. I get why he did it. But the part about him wanting everyone to love him for the move? I agree. That's some bitch bogus shit. Can't make anyone like you and you shouldn't give a fuck. Hopefully he's learned that. Otherwise, he's going to be chasing acceptance for awhile.

So what was the alternative? Stay in Oklahoma and be a perennial loser year after year? That shit is better than what he did? Then he gets to hear the "You can't win shit" for his whole career like y'all put on other guys? He may need to fill a void but he would've been more hurt had he stayed in Oklahoma.

OKC was the best in the west...... They weren't the KINGS. They had the best 3 big man rotation the league, KD, and Durant..... All they needed was 2 things..... Victor O to have came a year earlier and a good back up swing forward (Paul Milsap would've made that team totally unstoppable). Both would've been affordable

The best in the West? They were closer to the Rockets than they were the Warriors. They were not better than the Warriors. They were in that same class as the Rockets, Clippers, Spurs, etc.

And still wouldn't have been good enough to beat the Warriors. You can't win a ring playing as reckless as Westbrook does. You just can't. Shit is great for stats and fantasy sports.

Whether he matured or not is debatable. But he does seem to be figuring himself out by a process of elimination at the very least.

Matured maybe maybe not but, I noticed a change in his demeanor after he went to Golden State. All that crap that was thrown at him because he went to Golden State can change you. He really doesn't seem like he's happy there.

Now when you see Kevin he's different possibly angry but definitely different. So the ring didn't do it for him. Maybe what he's looking for has nothing to do with sports.

IMO since he wanted a ring he made the right move. But in organized sports people switch teams all the time, at every level of every sport. Maybe it doesn't happen at the pro level too often but it does happen.

Beautiful read
He thought once he got the ring itd make him satisfied and complete and all it did was make him want more and become more passionate about getting another title and feeling that way again

That's exactly what I like to hear

It's the "Lord of the Rings" quest. Everyone wants the precious, but once you get it, you don't want to let it go.

Once you lose it, all you can think about is getting it back.

That's why when I hear people say, "So and so should be happy he got one championship", I laugh and shake my head.

Athletes, execs, fiends, gamers and adrenaline junkies are always chasing that next high...

FIXED...But you on point.

He knows that Super Friends Championship ring is a shiny paper weight because he joined an already champion caliber team to get it.

One championship in OKC would have been worth 8 of those shits.

That's why LeBron went back. He knew no one was going to respect them Super Friends rings.

He didn't.

all these

KD leads the Warriors in points, rebounds, and assists like LeBron did the Heat those 4 years. Its the same thing.

Mfers in here only loyal to themselves u can't take them serious worrying about what the next man did they don't even run their own lives; most of em let their fugly wives run their lives come in here acting like they pull bad bitches

Thats funny cuz Jordan, Bird, & Magic all wanted to play on a Super Team called the 92 Dream Team and brag about it being "the greatest team of all time". MJ teamed up with the Bad Boys Pistons in the mid 90s (Rodman, Salley, Buddha Edwards) when he couldnt get by Shaq & Horace Grant. The fact is Jordan, Bird, Magic, Zeke were employees that did what they were told and didnt have the power to make demands about who they wanted to play with. Niggas love revising the 90s to make coon niggas and niggas that raised faggots in they household seem tough.

Exactly. That ring in Cleveland shits on his Miami rings

Man fuck this bitch ass complaining ass Nigga

You abandon ship in OKC to join the team that was your rival

Only to win a ring with said team

And complains that it was empty and didn’t fill the void.

FUCK KD

Its always some late 30s 40 year old nigga tryna convince us our eyes are fooling us like we cant see that todays players shoot 40 times better than 90s niggas and are more skilled. They always overstating how "tough" players were to deflect from the fact they werent that skilled or gifted offensively. Sean Elliott (a real tough guy) was 1 of the best small forwards of the 90s, today he'd be Harrison Barnes.

Cause he didn't earn that championship. Regardless of his MVP award. Just like Lebron's championships.

Can't compare what Lebron did to what KD did, it's not even close.

Not sure how or why people compare Lebron and KD leaving teams as if it's remotely the same. :smh:

Y'all kill me with the "Bitch" and "fag" shit. Dude did what was best for him. Its like y'all mad he didn't do what y'all wanted him to do.

Some are mad, I'm not mad. I just call a spade a spade. He did what was best for his career and I'm not mad. He just can't walk around beating his cheat like he really did something.

Lebron left to join the third best player in the league at that time and a potential hall of famer at that time. You have no idea what you're talking about. None.

Lebron and Bosh talked with Wade and they all decided to join Wade in Miami where Miami wasn't a good team at the time.

KD joined the best team in the league.

It wasn't the same.
The equivalent would be Lebron leaving the Cavs and joining the Celtics in 2010.
Celtics beat the Cavs and then lost in the Finals.
That's the only true equivalent, three players joining a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs isn't the same as joining a championship team that won the most games ever the year before KD got there.

Imagine if back in the early 90s, we saw Patrick Ewing leave the Knicks to go play with the Bulls.

That is what it was to see KD leaving OKC for the Warriors.

Shit is wack....
