I always say that every TV/movie pitch is basically: "Like ______, but with ______". Meaning that every pitch session uses a recognizable and established idea as a point of reference, and then explains how it is (or in most cases) isn't exactly like that premise.

The pitch for this movie was clearly, "Like Mortal Kombat, but with the Predator thrown in." Or conversely, "Like Predator, but with a Mortal Kombat tournament thrown in." Which honestly would sell to most major studios. Attaching Nic Cage is just the cherry on top.

As dumb as this looks (as mentioned, the trailer seems to have disturbing lack of Jiu Jitsu...), I'm on board. Worst case scenario, I have a fun night yelling things at my TV screen.

PRAISE: When Nicolas Cage finally shows up at least he provides some laughs with his quirky and weird performance . some of the kills are funny.Oh and the animated CGI got some unintentional laughs out of me too.

PROBLEMS: The running amnesia thread in this flick.....HORRIBLE
One of the most terribly inconsistent movies I have ever watched.
This Predator rip off is laced with beyond weak action sequences. They are supposed to be battling this epic alien warrior but are able to hold him off with thin metal pipes?!? Oh and the alien resembles the alien from Meatballs 3. Some fight scenes are POV which look horrible coupled with CGI that looked even worse.Dont get me started on the inserted comic book panels.
Watching Cage in his scenes i wondered how much he got paid for this should have gone straight to the SYFY channel flick.

Damn, a @joneblaze review?! :eek2:

I’m honored, thanks for the hilarious breakdown. Imma still watch this garbage fire at some point—bad action movies are my jam lol

I watched this over the weekend.
It was not great. It was slightly entertaining however. Probably because I'm familiar with the Five Nights at Freddy's video game series and the nostalgia behind birthday parlors is laughable. Very 80s B movie-ish but...Cage Rage.

Edit: I've watched it 3 times.
