This is what happens to a lot of creators. The audience chooses your content to an extent
Yep. It’s easy to fall in to it. Most folks start off with a niche, but it’s not bringing in a lot of traffic. Then they make a video or post showing some mess and it goes viral. They do it again and the next video hits. Then they try to go back to their original niche and nothing happens. So now they are faced with staying honest to how they started or incorporate dysfunction. And ultimately, dysfunction brings larger audiences and money from social media engagement.

I saw this happen real time with Kevin Samuels(RIP), but he never changed who he was. he went from jumping on the men to start dishing it out equally but slated moreso towards the women because they were more engaging and consume more of "that type of content". Not even mad at him because he did what he had to do.
The one thing you can’t help as a content creator is how people interpret your content. I went to a KS Facebook group and observed nothing but vile from a bunch of disgruntled men and women.
The social media realm has many demographical sections that exist, and a person with hundred thousands of followers still hasn’t touched a percentage of it. But as soon as your content gets noticed by another demographic of people, then it can change how people engages with your content. It can get messy real quick.
I wish I could elaborate further on my experience with being a content creator. I’ve managed to remain honest in what I do.

I understand when DL says as an ARTIST I have the right to leave the audience UNSURE if I'm serious or not.

I watched his Doc on Prime and while it was inspiring i can definitely see him clapping his hands and people scattering like that..the fact that she has a recording of him saying that he ruined her career and hasn't been compensated and the fact it was to the tune of 10 million dollars??? I wouldn't stop talking about either.
On a sidenote: I can't wait to see when this is resolved and Tyler and Monique have a sitdown in the movie "Madea and monique: Who can talk the longest?

its not that people didnt believe her...its that they told her (in so many words up to and including) shut the fuck up and take whatever they give you. People said her speaking out wasnt the way to go and that her husband was a bad influence...meanwhile she's won an oscar and had a vegas residency and won her issue with netflix all under his watch.

it wasnt THIS interview but it was this show...and in that episode DL and few other comedians were talking about her situation and essentially lecturing about how wrongheaded it was for her to go at it the way she had and how her husband was the problem and leading her wrong and not a good or real manager at all and it wasnt just his show ALOT of people were saying that about them. I cant find that clip because it was fuller show clip back then (we're talking like more than 5 years ago) but yeah her issue with DL is behind shit like that.
