Mo'Nique unknowingly brought that one on herself by suing and asking everyone to boycott Netflix.
Once it was announced that she was gonna have a special, everyone tuned in to see if her lawsuit and boycott request was worth it.
And if Netflix's low offer was warranted.

I dont and never cared for Monique, it does seem like she may have been slightly by the industry but I'll be honest, she seems like she overplays her hand. I dont think I have ever even smirked at a Monique joke. To me she uses being a Black woman being wronged when convenient to garner support but feels more for personal gain and not genuine. My .02 but geez she is not funny.
Today I still agree with Net only offering her half a mill ( well they could at the least offered a million due to her notoriety) . Because her name was not ringing bells in the stand up circuit . Exactly!!! She goes and talks about the breakfast club interview from five years ago, she had the conversation with CTG thought it was over then she brings it back up. She talks about the situation with DL She didn’t like what happened when she went to the show, she called him DL listened, did not air the segment and he no longer offer that type of segment based on the feedback he got from her. Now Shannon has been lumped in since she played a recording of Tyler Perry, then ask Shannon right there repeat what he said, which caught Shannon offguard, now, we all know that you heard the tape, we don’t know what happened between her and Kevin, but she said that he helped her when she needed it the most, only too shit over him in an interview. No we can speculate on the reason why but I wouldn’t trust anyone that records conversations. So who all knows what might’ve been discussed behind-the-scenes, and yes, she did mention that she paid him back with interest. I hope she keeps winning but at the same time stop airing your dirty laundry.
Cant I agree with u pimpin. Yes she did talk to ctg but ctg wasnt done. He and Kevin and tiffany are buddies. The only way he knew some details is because of tiffany. Cause she was getting a deal around the same time. They gave tiffany a good deal just to show that MO was full of it when she wasnt. Ctg was still taking jabs and only shut his mouth after MO settle with netflix.
DL tried to discredit her by posting a proposal instead of the real contract.
Point is if she kept silent she wouldnt be working in hollywood again. Its because she opened her mouth. Mind u she isnt the first to beef with Oprah and them but the first to open her mouth.
Now ad for the tape. The tape only became a factor when Tyler kept lying. He would promised something private than go and say different shit against her in public.

You can’t say netflix only gave Tiffany her deal was due to Monique, i can’t say it’s not possible either but Tiffany was popping between 2017 - 2019. Also about DL Hughley situation she needs to take that up with the promoters. Is she saying DL posted a fake contract?? If he was told he was the headliner then the promoter changes details then that’s on the promoter. Monique could have refused to do the show as well. All I am saying everything she brought up was old. As for the Tyler Perry audio just release it and let the entire world know. Tyler and Oprah are dead wrong, you can’t stop others from making a living and it’s messed up.
Im not saying netflix gave her a deal cause of MO. Cause they were already talking. What Im saying is they gave her a better deal than they would have normally gave her cause of MO. I think even the head of the comedy department got fired for making shady/bad deals.
DL didnt post a fake but it was a proposal that later would have been changed for the actual contract according to MO. And why it went public is she contacted DL but he was acting weird about it. And DL wasnt quiet about it he went on vlad twice talking about it.

Netflix in 2017 started to court Mo’Nique for a comedy special during a time it was aggressively ramping up its stand-up content, the complaint says. The negotiations, however, didn’t get far because the Oscar-winning actress did not agree to what she considered a low opening offer of $500,000 for a one-hour show that Netflix would have complete control over, including owning the copyright and retaining all audio-only rights to the special. She protested the offer as discriminatory, leading to Netflix walking away from negotiations.
U.S. District Court Judge Andre Birotte Jr. rules, “Mo’Nique plausibly alleges that, after she spoke out and called her initial offer discriminatory, Netflix retaliated against her by shutting down its standard practice of negotiating in good faith that typically results in increased monetary compensation beyond the ‘opening offer’ and denying her increased compensation as a result. Accordingly, Plaintiff has sufficiently alleged that Netflix’s alleged failure to negotiate and increase her ‘opening offer’ by straying from its standard practice are employment actions that are ‘reasonably likely to adversely and materially affect an employee’s … opportunity for advancement in … her career.'”
The decision points to the allegation that Schumer, a white comedian, was able to get her own offer increased by $13 million after she pointed to significantly higher compensation being paid to Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock. No such luck for Mo’Nique.
“The Court notes that Mo’Nique raises a novel theory here, namely that an employer’s failure to negotiate an ‘opening offer’ in good faith, consistent with its alleged customary practice which typically leads to increased compensation, constitutes an ‘adverse employment action’ for purposes of a retaliation claim,” states the decision. “While Netflix argues that the novelty of Mo’Nique’s claim and the absence of on-point legal authority for it should bar her retaliation claims outright, the Court disagrees.”
