Actor Jesse Williams was ordered to pay his ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee $40,000 a month in child support after his 3-year divorce battle was finalized. The two will share joint legal and physical custody of their 2 young children, and they will have to consult with one another when posting photos of the children on social media. It was also revealed that Jesse paid two spousal support payments of $50,695 for August 2019 and September 2019 to Aryn.

While fighting out their divorce, Jesse was ordered to pay Aryn $100,000 a month in child support, and she previously asked him to pay over $200,000 in legal fees. Williams responded, telling Aryn that "this is not a free ride."

Not sure what his Grey's Anatomy salary is, but I'd be surprised if it's less than 350K per episode, probably more. That show is on its last legs, but still...
So to go from 100K support to 40K is actually not too bad.

I bet if Grey's comes to an end anytime soon, he'll be gunning for a spinoff though.

Probably pretty close though. Successful network shows that bring in huge advertising money pay really really well once actors get past their initial contracts.

Grey's Anatomy is as old as fuck, but still does well enough ratings-wise for ABC to keep it around, and he has been on there for like 10 years I think, so he is definitely on his second or third contract. Huge casts but still, if he's making just 350K per episode and if they do 22 episodes per year at least....that's over 7 milly right there.

Then there's syndication money for reruns, and if he does any stage or film, writing, production work on the side..... he is doing well. ...and that 350K per episode number was a low ball guess. He may be making a half milly per.

That's why if I was an actor on a long running or new but successful show, I'd be the one sticking around until damn near the end unless hollywood is really banging down my door.

Dude David Caruso was on NYPD Blue for one year and was the most talked about guy on the small screen and left after one or two seasons to try films with his new status....and bombed. Had to crawl back to his old boss to get permission to do CSI.
At least Clooney stuck around on ER for a few years.

I doubt he is. His TV shows and movies ain't banking like that.
The ex-spouses always over-inflate the other person's income come divorce time.

Depends, let’s say he makes between 8 - 10 million a year he actually got off pretty cheap. If doing the math that would be less than 10% of his salary
I don't know what he's making NOW but I didn't even have to complete the search terms...

.

In June 2018, Williams was temporarily ordered to pay more than $100,000 per month in child and spousal support, with the court ruling pointing to his “extraordinarily high” monthly salary of more than $521,000.

Making 521k a month losing 40k For child support ain’t bad:...ain’t great but better Then 100k for Spousal support
Sort of but that's pre taxes lol
That 40 hit different after Sam come thru and take what they want.

And especially difficult for them cause he doesn't take it he just knows he better have his money when he ask for it at the end of the quarter.

Still don't make sense to me
Give me full custody if you need 40k a month to take care of the kids. It means you're incapable of providing and should be in a home that can

This country has always been on bullshit when it comes to divorce. Only women and bitch as niggas applaud this type of shit. No kids need 40k/month to live. She either needs to find a job or the kids better come and live with me. Fuck that shit.

Just speaks to the dudes I guess

I'm fighting for full custody

How you pay $40k and got joint custody

But had to pay 100k a month while you figure it out
And have to pay her lawyer fees while she takes you to the cleaners LMAO

Why, you want them doing this

in their free time?

Jesse and his wife were together 10 years, 5 before they were married. She and the kids are accustomed to a certain lifestyle. I like Jesse, but this strikes me as he saw all the ass coming his way as a result of his fame and good looks and decided to pursue that instead of stay in his current relationship. That's his prerogative, but there is an small exit fee. He got off light, IMO.

That’s a lot of assumptions on their relationship and him, maybe the relationship just didn’t work out? :dunno:

And we can talk about the “Accustomed” lifestyle thing all day, bottom line laws need to change.

It don't matter how long you were together
Once it's over it's over
He was with her too he doesn't deserve to get paid for his time from her? Lol

"Of course not that's ridiculous"

Exactly.

And the kids can still have that lifestyle.... With their father
She can provide the lifestyle she can create and I don't mean that in a way of she's not good or can't be successful I mean it in whatever she can do for herself is good.

She shouldn't live off of her ex that relationship is over and so should the things that are unique to him

He's probably accustomed to her doing whatever they did during the relationship so should she be obligated to do those things now that they're not together?

If she were making more and supporting the family, sure. Clearly that's not the case.

If he wanted custody, he would have it. I'm sure he would much rather pursue career opportunities, other women and enjoy his freedom. Ask all the single dads around here how much time they have with no one to help. He will either be paying his ex wife or a full time caretaker anyway, so it may as well be the ex.
