JUDGES EVALUATIONS:

Judge MISS MIGHTY:

Chew My Grits
8/10
Liked the old school flavor to the song. Nice mixture between beats and the vocals.

Winchesta Heat
5/10
The points come from the beat flowing with the song overall the song is somewhat plain and if it played on the radio I would turn it after 30 seconds.

Mufasa
2/10
Overall annoying. Too much bass, annoying female vocals definitely sounds like something from BET Uncut would get turned off after 5 seconds.

Boodahblaze
1/10
Not sure what the scheme of things were but didn't match up and sounded just overcrowded with beats.

KillaCweep
1/10
Sounds thrown together and doesn't flow and gets annoying after 10 seconds
.

PrinceGambino36
8.5/10
Now what got me with this is the fact I can bop my head to it though some of the mixing was a lil sloppy, just a lil, the overall song is nice even without
vocals.

If Prince added vocals the song probably would be even better.
With Grits the vocals make the song flow if it was just the beat by itself I can't see myself feeling it therefore I'm going to go with Prince.

MISSMIGHTY'S WINNING CHOICE:
Between Chew My Grits and Prince
I'm going to have to give this one to Prince.

Judge LEXX DIAMOND:

I have been listening to all the mixes since 6:30AM this moring
and I must say it was a tough choice between skymute and Chewy my grits

KillaCweep
you started off a bit choppy.
your timing is off with the beats.
the beats seemed to be tripping over one another
as though a cd was skipping. the sound affects
are nice though.

chewy My Grits
I like the intro
the mixing was smooth & consistent
the lyrics and flow blended well with mix
I felt like it was 1988 for moment
thats what I call hip hop

tight work player

Winchesta Heat
I would like to have heard more of the sample used.
however, the parts of the sample used fit the story line.
You gave the drama affect with the mix & lyrics. The scratching
was on point. Nice work

mufasa672
the sample work is smooth and consistant. the affects are on
ponit. Though I found her voice annoying.
At times the lyrical delivery was a bit fast for the sample.

skymute
thats a hot mix. I'm feeling the drums without
being overwhelmed by the beats.
I like the many sounds you added
and how they blend together. Its was cool from
start to finish. Tight work!

boodahblaze
the beats dont mesh smoothly at some points. its like
they are tripping over each other. overall the composition
is layed back and easy going. it makes a good 35 second
ringtone but after that its redundant.

prince gambino
Those are some hot beats. I like the way you change up the
pace and keep the drama effect. I cant find anything I dont
like about this mix. Tight work player
.

LEXX DIAMOND'S WINNING CHOICE:
My first choice is skymute and Chew My Grits second

Judge TEN:

boodahblaze
If this instrumental by boodahblaze was around
in the mid eighties then im damn sure the fatboys
would of hired boodablaze to produce a fatboys hit on it!
Comprising a huge oldschool hiphop snare with bass and horn
stabs, boodah creates his own rhythm and yet keeps the beat
so funky-lopsided it almost sounds like its been cut together by
a scratch mix dj! this track is one hundred percent real hiphop
and it feels good to know such producers still exist. great track.

CHEW MY GRITS
oh...
your..
god!...
the UK's very own chew-my-grits makes his
second appearance in a PML battle, and if he bought the heat
in the last battle then this time he's just thrown a match into
the oil storage hull! This track truly raises the bar here at the
PML. As Grits takes us on a hiphop journey of horn & guitar stabs,
and that incredible beat he created totally reminds me of why i
used to run to the record shops and buy the latest hiphop albums!
This is a man who truly understands melody and rhythm, making his
music sync perfectly with the rap acapella he's used on top, and i
mean perfectly! sounds like the rapper voiced this very track.
The excellent scratch chorus is the crowning glory making this
track a true, one hundred percent, hiphop recording.
i know for sure i could play this recording anywhere and it
will go down as a hot hiphop number, making the crowd wanna dance.
Was'nt that hiphops whole point? ..yes yes and yes!
I see so clearly now why Grits sticks to his guns, it was worth it.
Excellence and a new precedence.

KillaCweep
this blues inspired track from killaCweep sweeps along like
a drunken playboy sliding from bar to bar! the kind of bars
where the barman already knows what drink you want and greets
you by your first name, before asking you to take the small stage
and play some sad guitar for the 10 or so hazy-drunk people gathered.
Those jam sessions then get talked about as legendary and people go
hunting down any available recordings that may still survive 20 years
later. If you understand how the blues moves, then you'll dig this musical
adventure by a really cool musician. Blaze up a fat one for me killa!

mufasa672
the hoes break out of bgol heaven and get all nasty
and bitch-gangsta all over this peice of hiphop funk
by the musical maestro mustafa. With a strong bass stab
and groovy ass string lead, this track works magic for
the just-average-rap acappella song he mixed on top.
not a big use of the sample, but as a production designed to
remix an acapella this is a professional production job!

Winchesta Heat
two time winner Winchesta Heat is back and Young Buck mad as fuck!
Heat's use of the sample is excellent, and wraps itself around the
rap acapella tight as a glove, no seams. i think this is the first
entry so far that hasnt used any of the horns from the sample, and
that gives it its own sound. Plus winchesta did a great mastermix on this
track, making sure the bass-stabbed-beat, vocals and samples are perfectly
complimenting each other. Im not a young buck fan, but i got some damn
good advice for young buck; hire winchesta heat! not now but RIGHT NOW!!

princegambino36
i like my hiphop loud, and so obviously does prince on
this in your face, 2 rhythm, hiphop funk monster!
Just as the sample has two different sections so does
this! The first part gets your headnodding going then
the 2nd part starts punching you in the face with ferocity.
This track has the most evil sounding bassline ive heard in a long time!
id love to hear this loud in a club, its a going to war peice of music!
tight work prince.

skymute
see the creative diversity we have here in the PML!
november 2006 winner skymute returns to burn with
some dance music! Great use of the sample in this.
sky creates his own dance-rhythm with the lead hammond
sound as the driving force and heavy percussion keeping
the beat infectiously danceworthy. This wouldnt be out of place
in a house music club or a breakdancers jam, hes even supplied
us with a separate bonus dub mix! Excellent dance music by a very
versatile music producer.

TENS WINNING CHOICE:
CHEW MY GRITS
for being a hiphop genius.

peace
