I don't know man..I think Lauryn would have shined regardless. Btw without Lauryn on the Score. I doubt that it would have been the success it was and garnered the acclaim it got.
Dude kinda went in tho and no I didn't read the whole article. We kinda knew this already but people want to give her a chance and believe in her because they are loyal fans.
But the whole diva act with the lateness the nuttiness the playing new unheard of songs and material that's not how it works Lauryn.
All those vets who still tour 20 and 30 years after releasing their last album or their last hit album anyway know how this works. People will pay top dollar for acts from the 70s 80s 90s or whatever as long as they give them a great show and perform their old popular hits. There are a ton of acts that can do that for another 20 years if they are physically able.
Lauryn still trying to recover from her IRS troubles and probably her past mental and emotional problems. Maybe she'll get it together. Katt Williams seems to be coming back a little stronger these past few months.

Once you've been to a great show you can't bring yourself to deal with Lauryn Hill bullshit.

Damn 88 dollars? I seen Lauryn Hill and Nas for 45 just two years ago.....the fuck she charging 88 for? Well, because she can I suppose.

Hill was a pure example of how desperately her generation has become to make the artists of their era look like geniuses.
Women like Aretha, Diana, etc toiled a bit before they found their voices. And their musical resumes are what gave them STAR status and longevity.
Hill had The Fugees, a solo record (or two), and that was it. Her being even mentioned this long in the game is more based on her wackiness, than it is any musical artistry.
Like other cats have said here, even artists older than her though no longer commanding records sales, can still turn a place out. And that's mostly because they RESPECT their audiences. And their audiences know it.
I have a few friends who have been in the music game since the 60s. I've gone to their shows. And though they tell me how hard it is to get a show going (band members flaking, etc.) once they hit that stage, they are professional, and show love for their audience. And that's why BOTH keep coming back to another.
A lot of today's artists (especially Black artists) are ungrateful hacks who know their "talent" is based more on hype and delusion if anything.
And for us as Black People to keep accepting these hacks as representative of our rich musical culture is nothing short of historical ignorance.

cause people are dumb enough to pay it...andrew bynum, greg oden, and a few others have brought lauryn "how to fuck over people by making bread off of shit u did yrs ago and them thinking u still have it book for dummies"
But they consistently produced good content since. Lauryn has literally just recorded 10 songs since 1999, and most of them she was just featured. There's a lot of artists that only had one great album, and they don't act like her, stop giving her a pass every time she does it.

She has issues. Despite how the reviews went, arriving hella late to your overpriced concerts are abusing the fans trust in you. She would garner some dignity if she admitted towards why she can't perform said songs and HIT THE STAGE ON TIME. Those fans have personal issues of their own as well. Fuck. She's lucky to still headline tours. Too many platinum selling artists out there that no one wants them to headline jack shit now. Her conceit is too much.

No it isn't. She gave us some of the best of her. Many mothefuckers bootlegged her shit and never truly supported her or the fugees. Walking away from someone when you know they are struggling makes you the bitch. The weak one. She's a treasure who needs help. Probably just love outside of the bed and the industry.
