Is Google killing itself with Android?

Tmobile also wants to convince people to buy phones at the full unsubsidized price, but also admits that most American's won't pay $600 for a top of the line phone like everyone else. Not to mention their $30 is only 30mb of data, the $40 only has 100 minutes and the $50 is the first 100mb at '4g speed'

And Republic Wireless is going after the specific user. The person who uses their phone for data, not voice, which also likely has wifi. Something that the average metroPCS user who struggles with paying the $40 a month probably won't have, or has DSL lite.

And before you say it, MetroPCS intentionally limits their 4G to slightly faster than the average 3G coverage out (4-5mb) because of marketing, and their intent to sunset CDMA in favor of VoLTE. If you think they will hit Verizon speeds someday you are going to be disappointed, and for what it's worth Verizon's speeds will slow over time to around 12mb when they start to transition over.

As long as top of the line phones are still $600 to own outright, and there's limitations on prepaid plans, post paid isn't going anywhere.

nah last time i checked tmobile u could get a a 4g (exhibit II) phone for $189 outright....brand new. u can also get a plan that has 5 gigs of 4g data and unliited text. limited minutes but theres an app for that. so basically unlimited everything and 4g for under $50/month.

republic wireless is better if u have wifi but if u dont it falls back to cellular networks and ur still getting unlimited service for $19/month.

and nah metro, cricket and boost are all slower...metro being the fastest oof them so far. no they won't beat verizon but most people dont need those speeds and when it comes down to it if im gonna compare $80/month x 24 month contract vs $60/month x no contract... i'm gonna take the monthly deal eventually as soon as the speeds get to acceptable rates. it wont be verizon 4g speeds but all most people wanna do is stream content w/ little to no buffering. thats not that hard to do. might not be today or tomorrow but eventually when speeds are acceptable and as more monthly options come online... a 2 or 3 year contract is gonna be obsolete.

Last time I checked, around jan. - feb. $49.99 Is for multiple line plans. Single plans the best i could get was unlimetd talk and tex wit 2 gig data for $89 and that was with some discounts. But I got them to adjust my plan to 500 talk, unlimited text and 5gig data for the $89.

The Exhibit II is a year behind on current phone technology too. Single core, 512m memory, still on 2.3.5, wxvga display.

And the $50 4G plan is like I said, 4G speeds for the first 100 megs. You aren't going to be streaming much with edge speed. The unlimited plan with 2gb of 4G speed is $60. Complete unlimited is $70. All I'm saying is that you get what you pay for and not everyone can work with the limitations. To just boldly say that two years from now post paid will be dead is just being shortsighted.
