I don't know why they do it. I never been a cac. I'm brotha who does not champion a lot of the things these assclowns do on here. Proud of being born the ghetto instead of the burbs. They are proud of foodstamps etc etc, they are proud to live around Pookie and ray ray. Intead of far from them in a quality neighborhood with great schools. They are proud of not having a dad, not traveling globally as a child aka your parents want you to be well rounded.
There we go again... using pejorative speech... there is a difference between whipping a child and BEATING THE HELL OUT OF a child. Even today you hear parents say, imma beat you... when what they really do is spank or whip their kids. Are we really going to argue semantics here?
I've always defended him. My dad used to "beat" our ass with extension cords, fan belts and wake our ass up with a whoopin. There was no such thing as not being able to touch your child back then. My mom used to have a mean back hand that would make your nose bleed everytime, if we got smart or talked back. I only had to get hit with it twice, but my bro was a little more lippy. As a matter of fact, even at school the teachers used to be able to paddle us. I love MJ to death, but I also understand that he was one of those soft and tender types. He's so attached to his mom because she had the luxury of being the good cop, while Joe had to raise 7 black children in a racist country. All you have to do is go to your local mall or movie theatre to see what todays kids are like without the tough love.
Maybe we should outlaw whippings all together and only use timeout as a means of disciplining our kids... and see what happens.

And this you attribute 'solely' to Joe? Not to anything innate in the children themselves? Also you're referring to a group of individuals whose lives have been dissected and examined under a microscope. You can spin anything to be anything you want it to be. Understanding that this is the case i'm merely trying to point out that while Joe is by no means perfect... he's not a complete monster.

That is the question. It's a movie. What makes a good movie? What makes good entertainment. You have to have a villain. C'mon... it wasn't real. It was just a movie. Even the best biographies are embellished.
So Joe's sin isn't what he did... but how he did it... now if that is the position that people are running with then maybe I could go with that.... because i'm a firm believer in "There's a right way to do wrong." But that's not what people are saying. They are saying that Joe was evil. Were there ANY good qualities about this man who sired a family that people consider having acheived the American Dream?

As a businessman Joe Jackson was a major success. But when you take into account the stories that have been made public by the Jackson siblings Joe was a failure as a father a tyrant. There's too many stories for none of them to not have some merit.
Joe made is money off the efforts and talents of his children. He saw the talent and he rode those boys to success. But at what expense? Let's be real here this family is dysfunctional. Maybe the rest of MJ's siblings don't want to go public about what happened but when I look at the Jackson family I don't see that closeness you expect to see from a family that accomplished so much. Hell even momma split.

Yes if I was in hardened surroundings, had 9 kids - a few of whom big enough to kick my ass mixed with 2 hot to trot teenage daughters LaToya/Rebbie ( Janet was too young to experience the madness ), then yes I would be forced to put my foot down and up someone's ass in that household.
But something in that household went awry to the point that Joe crossed the line of nuturing.
