Some of you have heard of the communication and conflict resolution technology of Wekesa Madzimoyo, and AYA Educational Institute called Warriors, Healers, and Builders aka WHB. This presentation will show how that same technology guides the development of programs in our community and our school.
We examine two programs:
1. Melanin Healing Science
2. Black Liberation Psyc Ops
Melanin Healing Science
Years in the making, MHS is an example of WHB technology applied to physically heal our people and correct oppressive science pedagogy, which counters our children's academic advantages and leaves our people dependent on anemic or malevolent medicines and medical practices.
Many know of melanin. Few know how science has documented the use of melanin to heal our organs, like our hearts, ears, eyes, brains, and more - much more. Given the history of medical malfeasance and Black people, our learning to employ melanin in our healing strategies is key.
Black Liberation Psyc Ops
Speaking of healing, menticide is real and is growing. Integration was an invasion. Self- doubt, self-deprecation, and deference to oppressors were injected into our veins and psyches. This injected oppression exists within us and between us. We are responsible for countering, healing, and flipping it from defense to offense.
Such healing must avoid the "trauma train" and make us better builders with and for our people. Recovery must make us better warriors, actively challenging people, policies, and practices that oppress us. To this end, BLBO is dedicated to extracting key ideas from thinkers, educators, writers, "ourstorians," artists, psychologists, and organizers committed to Black liberation psychology. Once extracted, students will study and compare the ideas, then dramatically articulate application today via spoken word and proverb battles.
