After a few months of diligent research and allow the highly volatile period of elections to pass, here is the updated stock picks for 2021. I have removed a number of companies from the previous list and have added some.

Removed:
  • AAPL - Product rollout has been subpar according to consumers
  • AMD - This actually may be a buy. Unfortunately, its YTD has been less than optimal. This is why it has been removed. It is a real good time to get in on the dip. I will revisit this shortly.
  • NFLX - Subscriptions are flatling and hurt by competitors
  • DIS - Marvel will not recoup production expenditures this year from movies. Additionally, Disney theme parks will not reach full capacity this year.
Added:
  • ROKU
  • SHOP
  • ETSY
  • SHOP
  • MCD
  • NVDA
  • SQ
  • DAL
  • CCIV
  • GM

My picks are for the more passive investor. The person who either can not or does not want to day trade and have to continuously monitor his or her shares. Most of the picks are from solid performers with proven track records. CCIV is the only "new" company. All research and reports point to a solid year for the company. this is why I choose CCIV or NIO. Although Tesla's YTD is low, I am confident in it's performance and we will see another surge later this year. Buy now to benefit later.

If you are looking for additional buys, I strongly suggest looking into airlines and other travel companies such as cruise ships and hotels. I may edit the list to add a rental car company.

In my opinion, the best way to go about building your portfolio off of my suggestions is to use a platform that allows fractional shares. I prefer M1 because you can set up automatic deposits that will be automatically invested into your stock portfolio evenly. You also have the option to adjust percentages as well. Other platforms offer fractional shares as well. However, I can not speak to those due to my non-use of that function on those platforms.

Here is a YTD snapshot of how my current picks are performing. To keep this thread transparent and honest, I will start the updates on May 13th after one month of activity.

@Tito_Jackson You should speak on entry point.

For example, the run $SQ is on right now can't be a good buying point, unless you got in before earnings call.

The reason I "ignore" this in this thread is due to the Average Cost Per Share. People should be dropping $10 to $100 into their accounts weekly and automatically or manually grabbing shares. SQ experienced a dip recently which would have been a great entry point. However, the 12-month history leads us to believe that the shares will continue to rise. So, yes, earnings would be greater by getting in lower. But, this thread is intended for new and passive investors with little to no experience. Our other thread has more detail regarding being a savvier investor. My goal is to just get our people started with as few hurdles as possible. I have found that people are terrified of investing and the stock market. I am working to break down this barrier in m real life and as much as I can here. I recently submitted a grant proposal that would allow me to give attendees of my financial classes $100 to use to start their investment accounts. Thus completely eliminating the fear.

But, again, your point does not go unnoticed. I will look into how to add entry buy points with each month's update. Or as I see dips, I may just update the thread with a buy alert. I can set up alerts in my platforms to let me know of dips.

Not to hijack, but I encountered this same issue with NVDA.

If you consider SQ one of your core holdings -- that you plan on passively investing in over a long period of time -- then your best bet is to ignore the price fluctuations and deposit the same steady amount in regular intervals (dollar cost averaging). You will automatically buy less shares when it's up and more when it's down... but you don't risk talking yourself out of exposure or possibly missing the best trading days by waiting for dips...

"Time IN the market..." as they say.

A few of you have asked for an update on our 2020/ 2021 stock picks. Our picks have outperformed the market by 4%. I will be adding a script that allows you to see what the investment would have been if you invested $100 or $1000. Remember many platforms allow you to purchase partial shares. Therefore you can start building your portfolio with as little as $10. No excuses black people. Let's do this.

Just wanted to emphasize the power behind this and why fractional shares are so much of a game changer.

I remember being turned off when I first started investing because the pps for some the big boys was such an obstacle. Which really negated my own ability to invest in companies that I researched and believed in for the long term. Unless it was thru mutual/ index funds. But that made it hard to concentrate on a handful of solid companies that I really had conviction in... and then the little guys kind of get pushed into and addicted to penny stocks or lottery tickets as a more affordable options... and just hope. Or leave the market and don't come back.

Now, with fractional shares, share price means very little. Which means you can put any dollar amount on and own a piece of any company you like that is publically traded. The most important thing you need to do is pick good companies (ie: solid earnings/fundamentals, moats, market share, superior management teams) for the long term and whatever amount of money you invest in those companies will grow with them over time.

Covered Calls are also a great way to make passive income from the Stock Market... It does require up front money or if you already have 100 shares of a particular company, but the risk is minimal - VERY MINIMAL... It's a great approach for a long-term investing strategy... If your approach is short-term income driven then it may not be the best fit, but at the same time the risk is still minimal... Make sure you understand the basics of Options, the Greeks, and intrinsic value... With all things that's worth it, you will have to put in a lil work on the studying to grasp the concept to increase your winning profit consistency

It is amazing that this thread is only two years old. I have updated the data and inserted columns for those who enter in 2022. My Brothers, numbers do not lie. If you followed my friendly advice in 2020, you would be up 147%. If you follow me since 2021, you would be up 45%. Both years we outpaced the S&P, which in both years has done outstanding at 23%.

As I have stated numerous times, the only thing keeping most of you from investing is you. You can start with as little as $10. Your path to a million starts with a few dollars. But, you have to make the move and invest in yourself and your future.

What you are getting here is what firms charge millions for. I sincerely want you all to win, but I can not make you pull the trigger, you have to want it for yourself. The numbers do not lie. I am as transparent as I can be with this. Everything listed you can research for yourself. You can vet any and everything that I have ever suggested or posted in this thread and get as many second or third opinions as you desire. The end result will be the same. Being right for one month? Maybe I'm lucky. For 6 months? I could be very lucky. For one year? I could be a good guess. But being consistent for 2 years? What more proof do you need? 10 years from now, I can assure you that you will think back to this moment and either be thankful that you made your move or be regretful that you let an opportunity like this pass you by.

Here is the data. Let's discuss.

As you can see, Disney is the only poor performer. Sometimes it is hard to discuss Disney stocks on BGOL, because there are too many die-hard Marvel fans. lol!!! No shade.

The one thing that many Marvel fans do not understand is that Marvel is such a small part of Disney's portfolio. None of the movies released from MCU has yielded a substantial profit as compared to prior releases. Again, this is due to the pandemic. Additionally, when it comes to the Streaming Wars, Disney Plus is lacking regarding new content being uploaded weekly like Netflix and HBOMax. The Amusement Parks have been taking a beating and still have not recovered at all due to the Pandemic. ESPN has been losing viewership annually. Hulu is a bright spot, still has trouble holding onto titles.

Additionally, Disney has to be very worried about the Warner Brothers and Discovery merger. For us, this is a great entry point regarding adding Warner Bros. Discovery, which will trade as “WBD” to our portfolio to potentially replace Netflix which only showed an 8% growth this past year.

Early last year I found “The Come Up Series” on YouTube. They have videos teaching long term options. There is a whole community (mostly black) that follows them and we all help each other with how to analyze companies and the step by step for buying options. I bought my first options in March (5 figures)and more than doubled my money in December. A few weeks ago I took it all and bought TSLA options and Stock. Up 25% already. On top of that, it’s a whole other experience when companies make money for you.

Investing is the way to go. It’s not that hard and will change your life.

I'm hoping to have up my dividends investment portfolio up this week. I have made the conscious decision to go heavy on dividend stocks from now until retirement. This doesn't mean I will totally abandon traditional stocks and options trading. But, dividends will be a great source of income for me during retirement. My goal is to be receiving $100K per year at the time of retirement, with $50K being my bottom threshold.

I'm selling everything and buying back lower. Then selling again when we go high and buying back lower again. All VOO. So overall I have more shares of VOO now than when I bought it the first time last year with no new money added.

Tito! Thanks for all of this info. I wasn’t able to really get into day trading but I was able to get into dollar coat averaging into my TSP and other Roth. Managed to get a little bit of crypto. I am thoroughly looking forward to stocks that pay dividends however because I simply do not have time to watch the markets. Timing buys just won’t work for me due to the nature of my job. Being paid quarterly or whatnot just for being a loyal holder however is more my style. I’m looking forward to all your wisdom in this matter.
