I thought Precious was sad and mess up, Colored Girls was ten times worse

My wife saw that shit last night with her friends. She came home I said how was it? She had this look on her face that said it all...:lol:

Than she tried to tell me about dude dropping his kids and I cut that shit off right there:smh:
 
This was one of the most depressing films I have ever seen in my life! I enjoyed the overall movie, but I would strongly suggest going to see this with a black woman with little to no emotional baggage.:smh:
 
Was it a "Black men ain't shit" kind of movie, or was there some good substance to it?

but heres my thing this just goes 2 show how badly we need more black starred movies cuz white america has a bunch of sad white movies its just not looked at that way. They are looked at as just being real good or bad movies tackling life and the reason they dont get singled out cuz every other move is a white comedy/action/cartoon 2 balance it out. where we are stuck with one representation till the next all black movie event. And usually they involed the "black man ain't shit" mentality
 
I havent seen it yet and have no interest in doing so. Black women and black church folks will eat it up I'm sure.

Oprah and Spielberg's Color Purple did the same thing. The movie was well made and well acted and deserved the oscars and critical praise but it was basically black male bashing in tragic form. Oprah and white Hollywood ate it up just like they did with Precious.

I'm not joining Spike and all them and hatin on TP. He makin his paper and providing opportunity for many black people but I just can't roll with dude's movies. His comedies and his dramas are for a certain audience and that's it.

Get ya paper dude. It's jacked up but it's the only black cinema that's selling these days. That's why Spike and them so mad.

HELL NO!!! My wife and I made the mistake of going to see Why Did I Get Married 2 in the movies. Never again.

But overall, I just hate going to the movies. No one can just shut the fuck up and watch the flick. Everyone has to be a commentator or a comedian during the movie.

I haven't even seen Precious, I don't even want to imagine what this shit looks like.
 
I was going to go see it with fam but passed. Wasn't in the mood for no sad shit. I'm sick of all the serious and sad drama movies. We need to cross other genres like action, sci-fi, mystery, suspense, crime. Quit with all the sad down-trotten black folk movies.
