I finally decided to go for disability

Sorry that you had this out come, Good Luck on going through the process, and if all else fails, get an advocate / service organization
I tried to fight it but my health ain’t cooperating like it should plus I have a hard time doing my job now and I’m not doing a physical job. Some days I feel good and other days I feel like shit and my balance is off and everything. My mom and my girlfriend kind of forced me to do this. I’m glad they talked me into this. Something tells me I have mini strokes too. I went to urgent care a couple weeks ago and he sent me directly into the emergency room. I was OK, but that’s why I think it’s going on. I had a TIA stroke that’s when the blood vessels in your brain get clogged up. I could have had a aneurysm.

Sorry to hear about your ongoing symptoms.

One thing my brother told me a couple decades ago and I tell people looking to sign up for disability... They almost always deny you the first time you file, and the second time too. Always apply at least 3 times because they seem to flop you the first two times. The third time is usually the charm. Don't get discouraged if they deny you the first 2 times.

Good luck, fam.

Damn, what are you doing to improve your health?

Time to relax and get some benefits sitting on your ass.. Goodluck
I have been doing a lot of walking and minor exercises, but that shit still is not helping me that much. Also, some days like I stated earlier I wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Again, I tried to fight this. I tried to act like everything is normal afterwards, but it is not normal. Also, this type of stroke gave you severe brain fog. If I get approved for disability, I may have to walk away from my current job right now because I am starting to have issues there and keep in mind this is not a labor intensive job

Hey my mom and bro both had a stroke back to back months in the summer of 2022.. Thank god they both still here but I know there definitely can be lasting effects.. My bro had to get a few surgeries since and he can't ride his bike like he use to and not as energetic.. Mom dukes just be relaxing more but don't cook as much as she use to.. You have to take it easy and find less stressful things to do and try to appreciate life everyday

It’s possible to be approved on the first attempt. Your age and job skills are what plays a big part. It’s gets easier at 50 and easier at 55. They will not approve you if you are currently working and earning about 1500 a month.

I am 50 years old. I have been working ever since 1997 but my primary job ever since 1999-2023 with telecom. I made a ton of money doing 24 years in telecom. I looked over my annual pay over 20 years and I made a lot of fucking money. I put in a whole lot to Social Security. As I stated earlier, I tried to fight this day, but it’s becoming too difficult to continue as normal. When T-Mobile laid me off two years ago, I was making $46 an hour plus bonuses. After taxes I was bringing home around 5000 a month …. for a single man that is not bad income.
