New Jersey - Queen Latifah, Naughty by Nature

You could go on all day....
I think the point is to fill in for those states that are blank right now
Anyways, if you go by the states where cats were actually BORN rather than just "represent", you would have a lot more states filled
For example, Chamillionaire was born in DC, so you could fill that in

How many states are represented? Its not that serious man. Probably every state has a hood with a bunch that think they can write enough to become famous.

Speaking of D.C Section 8 Mob wasn't mentioned in this post...

I feel what you are saying. Just like Tupac was born in New York, lived in Baltimore but represented Cali to the fullest and just like the Clipse were born in New York but represent VA to the fullest. The biggest difference between Tupac and the Clipse is that Tupac mainly grew up on the east coast while the Clipse spent most of their childhood growing up in VA. I guess the question the post starter is asking is where do these people represent…It’s not where you from it’s where you at.

Good stuff survives without consensus.

When Jazz arrived on the scene in its earliest form, that was just n-word music. But no one that I've ever read about found a need to establish where or what jazz was doing in order that it survive the existing music genres. It was able to survive under its own weight.

Hiphop has seriously been compromised by filthy mouthed writers and as you can see, the push back has begun. Once the money has been taken out or seriously reduced of that music genre, it will collaspe under it's own weight.

In its present form, it's bad for society and turning our kids into lunitics that lifestyle as a life goal. You can't be (or should not be) supporting shit that is a detriment to our communities.

IMHO

YOU DO REALIZE THAT THERE ARE MORE RAPPERS THAN THESE GARBAGE RAPPERS OUT. THERE A BLACK RECORD COMPANY PRESIDENTS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO BLACK MAIL BOYS. SO I THINK WE NEED TO SUPPORT RAP MORE THAN EVER JUST NOT THIS KIDDIE GARBAGE RAP. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE EATING BECAUSE OF HIP-HOP. AND EVEN THO ITS BEEN DISTORTED BY WHITE PEOPLE ITS STILL OUR CULTURE. SO I THINK WE SHOULD EXPLORE ALL 50 STATES AND BEYOND FOR SOME TRUE HIP-HOP. AND EVEN IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT RAPPER ARE TALIKING ABOUT HIP-HOP HAS BEEN AROUND ALMOEST 30+ YEARS SO I THINK ITS SAFE TO SAY ITS SURVIVING AND I REALLY FEEL NO MATTER HOW LAME IT GETS IT WILL NEVER END. RAP IS AMERICA.

Hip Hop came or orignated from reggae. In the mid to late 70's, Americans in the bronx stole that art form or style of deejaying from jamaican reggae ariste and called it their own. Any hip hop historian will tell u that rap music as we know it today, the idea behind it was stolen from reggae. That is where the origin of hip hop came from.

So give credit where credit is due. Hip Hop is just a child that was born from reggae. People talk about hip hop all the time but yet they don't know the history behind. The title of u'r post should be more of : "Where is the credit that Jamaica deserves for making hip hop a multi million dollar industry". Just like the same way, that oscar that martin scorcesse won for making the departed this year, he should give it to the asian director who made infernal affairs, cause the departed was a blatant rip-off of infernal affairs.

Yours Truly........Professor.
