Black people vote in overwhelming numbers in the early vote process and were key to Obama winning Florida in 2008.... so what do the CACs do that run Florida?... reduce early voting days and hours by 50%

and what happens? some people taking up to 9 hours to vote or just leaving! :angry:

You're right. But the hours are reduced for everyone. I see a lot of minorities in that pic. Look like they still getting it in despite CACs being CACs. Could end up being a major backfire.
 
I agree with Profit, reduced hours affect everyone, all races.

All these folks have to do is deal with the long line/wait times, and also go out Nov. 6 to vote.

Did you read the first line? Minorities vote in significantly higher numbers in early voting. Whites vote in significantly higher numbers on election date. Restricting early voting days and hours significantly suppresses the black vote.

In one county alone (high dem-black county), this resulted in 100,000 less black people voting. That is enough to swing an election.

This is systematic vote supression. It affects white GOP voters MUCH less than black people and other minorities. It won't backfire on the GOP unless there are criminal investigations into fraud.

It undeniably reduces the black vote count though.

The GOP in FL is making it harder for folks to vote, and took measures to cut early voting hours.

FYI, other GOP Governors made it EASIER for people to vote early. It helped Obama win in 2008.

They realized that and have now fucked up the voting process dude to their cheating ways and agenda. :smh:

Anything they can do to supress the minority vote is being done in a systematic way.

People seem to forget that this type of action was enough for them to steal Florida and Ohio before and hands elections to Bush.

This type of shit has real consequences.

You know they've moved locations as well (producing longer commutes) and some people actually can't leave work on Tuesday to go and vote. Poorer wage workers living check to check have a harder time losing work days when they have bills to pay.

Man... I can't see how people aren't disgusted by a systematic plot to make it as difficult as possible for black people to vote.

I'm not arguing people shouldn't do whatever they can to vote. Shit people need to show up in the MID-TERMS to keep assholes like the current SOS out.

But regardless this shit is pretty fucking disgusting because this is not just ONE case... throwing out provisional ballots, sending out misinformation in highly democratic districts, etc.... what is happening down there is straight up attempted robbery

Yes there are consequences, but consequences that can be avoided by people standing strong and voting regardless of the obstacles.

Just like how our elders stood strong to get us the right to vote.

There needs to be no excuses at all!!!!

It is disgusting, but the only way to combat it, is to fight the system. Come out in numbers and still vote.

Question: If people are in line after the 7pm time, they can still vote, right? I will be in that fucking line till I cast my fucking vote.

There are two clears issues here.

1. People need to understand the important of mid-term elections (not just presidential) because these characters should not have been elected in the first place but people didn't show up in 2010.


2. There needs to be a thorough reevaluation of the vote management process because it's too easily manipulated by partisan politics.

Jeb Bush (GOP) extended early voting days and hours.
Charlie Crist (GOP) did the same.
Rick Scott comes in to change rules that were working just fine, but to change them to favor the GOP.

All people have to do is have no excuses and go out and vote!!!!

Whether there were still schools that survived or not or whether still still remains an election day does not negate the fact that there is a systematic government sponsored effort to disenfranchise minority vote and it successfully doing so in a series immoral and possibly illegal ways.
