This is how I'm watching Luther and a ton of other shows and movies. Man of Steel was uploaded to it. Saved me a bunch and now if I am able to stream to Chromecast that would be great. Not sure if that will work.
Wow, this is cool. Can you send ANYTHING to your TV,or only certain things that are Chromecast compatible?
Has to be ChromeCast compatible for now, or within the Chrome browser.
Almost bought one, but I just do not see a need for it.
I have some kind of streaming box connected to all my TVs already so buying this adds no advantage for me.

For now only Youtube, Netflix, Google Play Movie/TV and SOME Chrome tabs. Suppose to implement developers into the fold to allow them to include Chromecast in their apps.
Once a app like MX PRO does this (if not already?) then I may purchase.

IMO, if you have a SmartTV or any other kind of streaming device, this is not needed.
Yes it's cool to push shit to your TV from your tablet seamlessly, at a cheap price of $35 as opposed to $99 (AppleTV), but this is only good if you do not have a streaming device right now, and own a tablet/smartphone.
I can already control YouTube on my TV using my tablet or phone on my PS3. Shit is nice to be able to search on your phone, and play it on your TV using the PS3

Not surprising but it'll be on Amazon today or tomorrow and at Best Buy on Sunday. I have Prime so I don't have to pay an extra $8 for 2-day shipping like on the Play Store

Good looking, but for me it says estimated delivery July 30th, but cheaper than $41.50

If they add the ability for Plex to send videos from the tablet to the TV using this I'll be one happy camper!!!
If VLC adds the support for Chromecast, yes, but it is up to VLC to add the support.

As of right now, no. But that'll be interesting.. they didn't mention support for PC software, even with the SDK. It was basically Android and iOS mobile apps and the Chrome browser that can send content to the device
copped. For the price it can't hurt. 
It should eventually happen.
Like today with AppleTV, if I'm watching ANY kind of video, I get the option to send it to the AppleTV.
This includes videos from the browser, or from an app like Plex or YouTube.
