What store brah
I've seen them in BJs.
What store brah
What's crazy is how different every Golden Krust is. The meals will never taste the same between franchise locations with the exceptions of the pastries like the patties & cocoa bread. I've actually been to one location in Florida that had good tasting food.Golden Krust is the McDonalds of Jamaican food..never been impressed with their food, even they're fucking everywhere.
No, it's not. I fucking paid $19.99 for a small oxtail for one in Atlanta last night. I didn't look at the price until they told me what I owed. That's gotta be the family bundle for two. Lol.

It’s frozen salt. Bruh. Are they good.. brah?

I know a bit of history about the why. What's crazy is how different every Golden Krust is. The meals will never taste the same between franchise locations with the exceptions of the pastries like the patties & cocoa bread. I've actually been to one location in Florida that had good tasting food.

I used to do graphics for 3 franchise owners prior to "food" selling. All the owners only used to buy patties and never offered anything else when the stores all started popping up.
Because the store owners were being raped (50% of sales) by the franchise, they got smart and started offering food. After a little while Golden Krust got keen and started making them pay a percentage of all sales. So there's no standard when it comes to food. All patties come from NY where the factory is so that is the only thing that would be consistent.
Food is just local as well as your cook/chef.
My wife cuz owns one here in Houston.
She's had issues with reliability of cooks so gave me the rundown on how things run as well.
Yeah I know a few people with family who owns franchises as well. As a franchise it'll make money outside of NY cuz of the name but to last in NY you gotta make sure your cooks are on point. In areas in the BX and BK, you'll find a Jamaican restaurant on damn near every corner like bodegas. A lot of them are fronts but you'll still be able to get a meal there.I know a bit of history about the why.

Don't knock us out here in the boonies. I can't drive 5 mins and buy a pattie like when I was in Brooklyn. It’s frozen salt. Bruh.
You’re posting pita breads as patties? Bother, you’re fucking up this early in the night?Don't knock us out here in the boonies. I can't drive 5 mins and buy a pattie like when I was in Brooklyn.
These are passable.
Also frozen out here, we buy these skins for $6 a pack at Foodtown. Frozen and I usually stock up on them when my grocery has them.
The big issue also was shipping. She was the first to bust one in Houston. Not sure if they are the furthest state/store from NY as far as shipping the frozen patties. That was an issue for them in the past as a company, distance.Yeah I know a few people with family who owns franchises as well. You read it? I said out here I also buy "skins", frozen. Have to make do, because stores aren't frequent nor as good as NY.You’re posting pita breads as patties? Bother, you’re fucking up this early in the night?
For them prices you could buy your own and cook em....they taste better the second day if the gravy is right and brown.
What store brah
That's bullshit. Oxtails is only expensive because black people like them. Same with chitterlings. It's the least expensive part of the animal that no one wants except us
I guess some ppl don't know where oxtail comes from. Yes, a cow only has one tail.Plus they’re not sold everywhere, not they they’re rare but not every place makes them.
If you like White Castle then you gotta do similar in biting the bullet on the frozen ones. If you live in areas like Florida or Georgia then they got bootleg nasty ass Krystal's as an alternativeDon't knock us out here in the boonies. We eating cow ass?
We eating cow ass?
Oh lawd.
I don’t eat oxtail. And I don’t eat crabs. I grew up on an island — I know the truth.
Any frozen Brand beef patties out.. brah?
Thiiiiisssssssssss.
Plates went from being barely $15 to $30 in the past year.
Might just be where your getting your food. I always request more gravy and they've never uttered a word about extra $$ for gravy. As of last week.BTW if you live in NY or have visited and went to a Jamaican restaurant, chances are very high now that if you didn't get an oxtail meal but asked for oxtail gravy, you were probably charged extra for it. I remember seeing that trend start a few years ago with spots charging $0.50 extra for oxtail gravy
Sandifer you need to stop, now you were born on Gilligans Island....rightWe eating cow ass?

It's multiple spots all across the BX & BK doing that shit. I live in NC now & where I get my Jamaican food doesn't pull that fuckery. Oxtail price has gone up but nothing over $15 for a meal.Might just be where your getting your food. I always request more gravy and they've never uttered a word about extra $$ for gravy. Every Golden Krust is its own store & will have varying prices & menuI went to their website, their menus are not reflecting the price showing on that sign...YET. Oxtail Dinner $14.50 on the dinner.
