Football question... Could Darrelle Revis or Deon Sanders man up Tyreek Hill all game with no help?

True can’t nobody hold any wr for an extended time. But Diggs was number one in int that damn impressive in the NFL

Diggs had an insane amount of yards given up.

Part of the reason he had so many ints is because teams threw at him due to them not fearing him.
Tampa shut mahomes down not hill; rewatch the game; You sir are a complete idiot…

Mahomes was putting the ball where he needed to while running for his life, his receivers and o-line let him down.

Listen to the NFL top 100 for Pat Mahomes and listen to what the Bucs are saying about him.

I see where this is going no cornerback had more int than Diggs at one point he had a int for every game he played in sometimes even two.I’m not a Lebron James fan but I can’t deny his talents on and off the court. Can’t stand Tom Brady but he is the goat. Oh don’t like Pat Mahomes but he went to 4 straight AFC Championship why we nitpicking?

Prime Time would pull a hamstring and miss that game just like he did the one time he was supposed to match up with Randy Moss. Deion might be the fastest DB we've ever seen but a receiver knows where he is going a DB just makes a adjustments and a HOF QB can make a bum good. So locking Hill down completely no.

Deion had turf toe in 98 and was never the same. Prior to the turf toe, Deion had this incredible game,

We were robbed of a Deion vs Moss showdown.

You must not have been around when jerry rice was going against Dion. I was and witness some games 1st hand. But let me help u out.
1989…2 games Rice had 6 receptions 112 yards and 2 tds...
1990...1st game Rice had 8 receptions 171 yards and 1 td; 2nd game 13 catches 225 yards and 5 tds :eek2: :eek2: ; wow he was really shut down..
1991...1st game Rice had 7 receptions 138 yards and 1 td; 2nd game he had 6 catches 44 yards but Steve Young was hurt in that game
1992...1st game Rice killed them but Sanders didnt play; 2nd game 4 receptions 45 yards and a td
1993...1st game Sanders didnt playe and Rice was quiet; 2nd game 6 receptions 105 yards
1995...Sanders was on Dallas; Rice had 5 receptions for 161 yards and a td
I can go on and on; but as you can see Sanders didnt shut Rice down; and actually Rice killed him the majority of the time; and they both are considered the goat of their positions; so all this shutting down shit is stupid; Hill will get his and Sanders would get his...
Rice is the goat, I’m convinced that nigga was a science experiment. He came out the lab perfect. Rice old ass was still shaking mawfuckas as a Raider.

Also, Irvin used to eat Deion for breakfast. Troy Aikman was the most accurate thrower in his prime and it was almost impossible for any CB to pick his passes off.

Here's why Sanders would be able to do it. Sanders played for a while obviously. He faced the best WR every Sunday. To suggest that he wouldn't, in his PRIME, be able to check Hill leads to the OBVIOUS question. Did Sanders face any receivers who were better if not as good as Hill and if so WHY didn't THEY fuck him up?

The reason why he has so many ints is because qb's aren't afraid of him.

Teams even said they weren't afraid of going after him because he is so aggressive and subject to getting beat on double moves.

He gave up the most yards in the NFL.

He is boom or bust, qb's aren't afraid of throwing to his side.

Rule changes are never brought up in these cross era conversations. Tyreek Hill would not be able to play the same style of ball if he played in the 90's. There was too much contact that guys had to play through as well as the intimidation factor of teams having a "safety" whose sole job was to put a helmet in guy's chests.

The season was 18weeks, but each team had a bye week. Making the total games played in the NFL 17 weeks. 17 games divided by 1,000 is about 58 yards per game.So when you say he gave up 1,000 yards it’s sounds as if he getting cook all over the place. These are NFL finest football athletes, that’s hard as shit to do week in and week out. No different then running back with 1,000 yard season shit both of Denver running backs rush for 1,000 yards….Why is that cause all they needed was 60 yards a game.

Qb prides was in the way no different then the Bills punter punted to Tyrek Hill when he should’ve kick it out of bounds. Hill took that bitch back about 50-60 yards. Kicker kick to Devin Hester in the Super Bowl and he house that shit. Nobody should be afraid of anyone but you shouldn’t be naive either. Can’t let your pride get in way when facing Mike Tyson. I’m not about to punch him cause I’m not afraid of him and he human like everybody else.

Rules matter but let's be honest. We're talking about Deon's talent versus Hill's talent. Deon is arguably one of the greatest players ever talent wise and would flourish today because of his size and speed. His ability to cover and recover would still make whoever he's guarding option number two. No quarterback his right mind would throw the ball his way. That's not a knock against Hill. He's a bad dude. It's just a testimonial to how unique Deon really was as a player. We see new receivers all the time. We're still waiting for the next Deon Sanders. That dude eliminated half of a football field. Crazy...........Peace

Rocket Ismail ran a 4.28 40 vs Hill’s 4.29. If Deion could keep up with Rocket he could easily keep up with Hill. Again the x factor is Mahomes and his legs.

1st lets identify the best cover corners...

1.Deion by a mile
2.-4. Revis,Mike Haynes and Mel Blount

2nd and most important what rules are we playing by? If its the rules Blount Haynes and Deion played by which was physical, hands on and can knock the shit outta you then Hill would never get open against any of them. If its todays soft pussy rules then only Deion had the speed to run with him. If its todays rules then Darrell Green would be the 2nd choice to cover him after Deion cause he had the speed also. A true one on one challenge with Hill and Deion would be very one sided Deion was a pure freak of nature. He may have been the fastest player to ever run on a field in pads maybe not a 100 yard dash track but on the field in pads he would be neck and neck with Bo. Deion was the only corner evere who was fast enough smart enough and had the technique to LET the WR open just to bait the QB to throw it.

THIS!

Deion was the best I’ve ever seen. He was so good in his prime, they would take a chance throwing at him, one time per game. And if it didn’t work they’d say fuck it! Not throwing over there again.

Good point, Darrell Green always gets left out of the discussion. He might be the fastest corner I’ve ever seen. And he stayed fast even at forty.

True. A mobile quarterback, who is also willing and able to improvise on the fly is a dangerous mofo for any corner.

You trying to argue a point you’re making. If Deion couldn’t use his physical gifts along with his outstanding ability because the rules prohibited him from jamming receivers at the line, or hand fighting with a player while the ball is in the air a lot of plays that were incompletions or breakups end in PI’s and automatic first downs in today's game. Ty Law is in the HOF and his entire playing style was out muscling the guy he’s guarding. The rules just let Cooper Cupp put up numbers Randy Moss and Mike Irvin ain’t never do. It’s a completely different game today fam.

We acknowledged that. The point was that I believe Deon had the physical and mental skills to be just as effective today. Even if it was slightly less, ain't nobody targeting his side of the field.
