Damn. I just binged both these. 
After all the weirdo shit they been putting out the last few years, it was good to see some good ol' fashioned, testosterone-fueled, carnage. Liked the first better than the second.

1st one was better
It is so hard to catch lightning in a bottle twice. You stand around in that spot with a jar and a lid in the other hand not realizing lighting doesn't strike in the same place twice.
Very few times in the history of Cinema has a sequel lived up to the one before it when the one before it was great.

Idris Elba character is “Luther”
If you saw the final scene in this film and the Luther movie it adds up.
When Idris is first introduced in the cabin, he stood up and put his hands in his pocket.
Overall, it was a good entertaining film.
The action sequence from the prison going to the safe house kept you glued to the screen.
Definitely looking forward to the 3rd flick.

PRAISE: Chris Hemsworth returns as commando Tyler Rake after surviving a near fatal assault. This time he embarks on a dangerous mission to save a ruthless gangster's imprisoned family.
This movie is for action junkies like me. Every box is checked from hand to hand fights ,car chases and aerial assaults. The CGI is so close to being flawless at times I couldn't tell if it was practical effects or CGI used in various action sequences. High praise to Director Sam Hargrave and everyone involved in putting all of the aforementioned scenes together. Coupled with the action are some solid dramatic scenes of Rake dealing with his own personal losses and regret. Praise to Olga Kurylenko for also making the aforementioned scenes work.
PROBLEMS: Watching what a certain character witnessed and went through there was no logic or reason to the decisions the character made. I felt that the decisions were kind of forced for something that was so obvious.

Netflix is debuting a new Gal Gadot action film this August.
I’m gonna call it that Idris will appear at the end/mid credit scene to recruit her.
Good chance Netflix is getting ready to do their own “MCU”.
We will wait and see…
