Exposed (2016) starring Big Daddy Kane and Keanu Reeves

doesn't look bad...still waiting to hear more comments from y'all tho

Isn't this that movie where the studio took the final cut away from the black director and re-edited the movie, cutting down the screentime of all the black and brown people and beefing up Keau's character (who was supposed to be a supporting player) and made it look like a mystery that it wasn't originally intended to be?

An indie drama by a Jamaican-American first-time director, Gee Malik Linton, Daughter of God was supposed to be a quiet, surreal story about a Latina woman and the Dominican family she lives with, featuring subplots about violence against women and the twin effects of mass incarceration and police brutality on black and Latino communities. But now, because of drastic changes in the film’s edit, Daughter of God has become Exposed, a generic, middling thriller debuting this January and starring Reeves. Large subplots involving Latino and black characters have been cut, and the trailer features predominantly white faces.

Yeah, I thought so. Now this is the shit to start a boycott over.

I'm watching this shit now and there's about five minutes of Keanu in the movie. I don't even know what his story has to do with it, but there's a whole lot of this cute ass PR chick.

How you gonna boycott a bootleg ?

You got local government giving poison water to people

You have people being murdered by state sanctioned assassins

You got 50 cent having issues with Irv Gotti

and mofokrs wanna boycott movies they won't ever pay to see....

if it wasn't for priorities where would we be ?

Well that is the whole point. This wasn't supposed to be a bootleg. It wasn't supposed to be some run-of-the-mill late January dump. This is a project that was intended to deal with meaningful themes such as the effect of mass incarceration on brown and black communities. This could have been that breakout indie film that launched that brother's career. Instead it will quickly be forgotten and the director might have to start back at zero.

My point was, albeit a facetious one, was that this is something to be upset over, a young brother getting his work taken away from him, instead of calling for a boycott over Will Smith not receiving his third Oscar nomination for a performance that wasn't even a career high for him. Because this "whitewashing" of films is where the real problem in the industry is.

As to the second part of your diatribe, this may come off as strange, but I am more than capable of holding two opposing thoughts in my head at once. Meaning just because I have a problem with this doesn't mean I don't take issue with any other injustice in the world.
