but the 1st half line is Spurs -1.5 and the total is 100pts...the refs turn a blind eye to obvious fouls and or wave off and 1's to ensure the combine score doesnt eclipse 100...so at the half the score is Spurs 43 Bulls 41...a good game right...Wrong again...they laid 200k on the 1st half under and win 190,000 dollars because they were certain the teams wouldnt combine to score over 100 because they dictated tempo and pace...Folks tune in the second half and watch the riveting finish which at this point the refs can call a fair game and not give a fuck who wins because they have already won.

Why would Stern want San Antonio to win? They league HATED when they were dominating because they weren't in a major market, had no major stars and were generating low ratings during the Finals.
nba series are harder to pull upsets off. football is one game, anything can happen. also, the small # of players in hoops means stars have more opportunity to assert themselves. the power of having a kobe type player in a 7 game series shouldn't be underestimated.
Don't get me started on that mavs/heat series, the mavs beat their ass in game 1&2 but then d-wade became superman all of a sudden.
