Drinking milk and eating meat from cloned animals...this shit has got to stop!!!

yeah
the FDA is JUST NOW making their accpetancee known.
and to think about all the multi page food threads (thanksgiven, christmas etc) all the BGOL members getting excited about eating themelves to a slow death .....deep fried turkeys.....chitlins....sugary pies etc :smh:

hope yall got life insurance.

so many people on this board said they wanted to get their health in order for the new year....but most of them always have their asses in the FAT MAN/WONMANS food threads.

yeeeeep

Empty promises and unwilling to put forth the necessary effort to make drastic change. A common trait that isn't easily remedied by words alone.

I already stopped drinking milk...I am taking a purge this weekend and I am planning on taking a strong stance against meat...this article helps make it easier...

First off, your name is McBoob?

Secondly, you want science to support not eating something? This is the most ass-backward logic you could have conjured up. Should you really be posting here? You can't be eighteen. You can't even be twelve-- I'm positive you would have died from eating too many marbles before a dozen years could have passed.

:lol::lol::lol:

LOL

You do realize that we have been eating cloned, genetically modified fruits and vegetables for years right?

AND

It was the successful cloning, genetic modification and integration of said fruits and vegetables onto store shelves that is the blueprint for cloned animals for meat and milk!.

Whats cold blooded, and I hate to rain on folks parade is that the so called organic stores may be cloned food too. The reason is many farmers are using genetically altered seeds as well. Mean ain't it.

Will be starting that veggie garden in the back yard this year...

vegetable%20garden.jpg

MY MOM AND I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME VEGETARIANS THIS YEAR AND IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS THE BEST TIME AS ANY TO HOLD TRUE TO THAT.

People have been genetically modifying animals and plants since we first started planting crops and keeping animals whats the big deal. I'd be much more concerned by our man made food.

The only rational answer in this post. I commend you SAFOOL. MFers are living longer than ever because of these genetically modified foods and still complaining.

If a cancer cure came out tomorrow that had non-life threatening side effects in 10% of patients, they'd still be complaining.

That's what I'm talking about. I've been thinking about starting a garden for a while now. This is a lost art with most of us Black folks. I wonder how many brothers or sisters know how to plant and harvest fruits or vegetables like our great-grand parents? Our food supply is no longer safe...:smh::smh:

my grandmother has been growing her own vegetables since before i was born..she still has that garden, even in her old age. i can't front though, i personally never learned to grow/harvest anything.

Pretty much the same story here. My great-grand father had a nice garden. Blacks were the best farmers in America once upon a time. (add in ranchers, cowboys, jockeys, carpenters, etc. - but that's another post) Now most of us can't grow a damn tomato and they cost a grip ($3.95/lb. at Ralph's)...:smh:

I could just see these cats when electric lights made it into peoples homes. "Man them lights is going to fry your brain" Preach brother if God wanted their to be light he would not have made night.:smh:

My grandmother grew her own vegetables too. She also had fruit trees in her backyard. It's not hard to do. You just have to put the work in.

Whats amazing about it is you ALWAYS wind up harvesting more than what you can eat!

:hmm::hmm::smh::smh: Well I'm sure those straving souls thoughout the world would love to eat foods plant and or animal thats been modified so it will produce enough food for them to eat and live in their changing environments.

This Franken Food scare was invented by some dorks who think TINFOIL HATS are the height of fashion.

Jumpin' Jesus welcome to the future!

You can be concerned when they start calling your food Solyent Green!!!!

Slow down little buckaroo

Should I be posting on a PORN board because I asked if there is any scientific evidence to support the detriment of cloned food???

It seems you're excited and confused by my question, thats understandable.

Do you know what cloning actually is?

Are you aware we have been eating cloned and genetically modified fruits and vegetables for a very looong time? Gala apples, seedless grapes?

Mr. McBoob...

The old "porn board" defense, eh? Not applicable here-- It's well known that you're not supposed to be on sites like this until you're 18, which was the basis for my statement.

I do know what cloning is-- go back to page one and you'll see I started a thread on this subject almost two weeks ago and the discusion was actually at a higher level than this thread has reached.

Lastly, it's funny that you and a few others in this thread think you're the only ones who have heard about organic fruits and that discussion. This is newer technology and less reliable-- to bring up for the third time a point nobody else here has addressed, cloned animals have SIGNIFICANTLY lower life spans than normal animals produced from sex. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to pause and reflect on what impact humans consuming these unnatural and unhealthy animals will have.

Your heart is in the right place but your head is nowhere near.

Starvation isn't caused by a lack of available food; the problem is not that Earth cannot produce enough to sustain human life at its current levels. Starvation is an economic problem and a matter of abundant resources being unavailable to those who need them along with over-consumption and greed among the better off.

This unproven, untested cloning scheme is not about improving anybody's lives-- they are actually showing great disregard for our health. This is MORE of the original problem-- greed and a complete lack of compassion for those without power. The companies pushing this will make more money and we'll play russian roulette everytime we sit at the table. The truth will come out eventually, as it did with cigarettes when they were claimed to be healthy, but they're doing this in an area so much more essential to human life. We have to eat.

This is not altruistic and its not about helping anybody. It increases the amount of pople being fucked over and the degree to which they're being fucked.

C/S Well said sir.

Okay, I gotcha.

You assessed I was under 18 because I asked for science to substantiate evidence of any detriment to eating cloned food.

I hear you, don't quite follow, but it's cool.

You pose an interesting question-

Does a shortened or lengthened age of a clone have any affect on the animal consuming it?

I think what you are referring to is the telemoric difference between cloned animals and naturally procreated animals.

The telemores of cloned animals are inconsistent with the subjects that they are cloned from, you're correct.

But in some animals like cloned mice, their telemores can be longer than normal mice, resulting in them living longer. The results with clones are generally inconsistent.

The popular sheep Dolly that was cloned some time ago had telemores that were shorter, but she died of Ovine Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma a common disease among sheap.

Ultimately does a clones different chromosomes actually pose a risk to animals eating it?

I doubt a pig that lives 60% of another pigs life because it was genetically wired to live that long, poses any more of a risk to an animal consuming it, than a pig that lives average age. Farmers kill livestock long before its age of attrition

Some people believe an animals "energy" is transferred to the subject consuming it.

Me personally I appreciate evidence, thats just me.

This is a new, exciting frontier in science; new, alarming and scary to many people, which is understandable.

"But public opinion has been negative on the issue, with some saying that not enough safety studies have been conducted and others concerned about the health of the clones, which are far more likely than ordinary farm animals to die early in life."
http://www.bgol.us/board/showthread.php?t=224996

Even 60% is a very generous number. These animals aren't wired to live lesser lives; they have severe health problems because the science is immature and they are dying.

basically u have to grow your own shit cuz they have chemicals / pesticides on vegatables too either way youre fucked

Well they are unintentionally wired to live shorter lives.
The clones copy the telemores of the original.

For example. Dolly had adopted the remaining lifespan of her original.
Her original was 6 years old, so basically Dolly had only half of her life to live ( half of 12years)

Again not all clones live shorter, cloned mice frequently live longer for reason.

Foremost these animals are slaughtered relatively early in their lives when for food.

Needless to say, me personally, I would be more scared of the drugs, hormones and living conditions of livestock (cloned or otherwise) more than I would be if the meat was cloned.

You are right though, people should be cautious, but not knee shaken and terrified of new science.

I personally would just like to see research on the matter.

Cut the bullshit out ya diet and hit the farmers market!
To my brothers that don't know how to cook healthy meals. LEARN. Hit Youtube up.

You ain't a soulja or a MAN if you cant cook.

You do have a point. KFC pumps their nasty ass poultry full of steroids, and McDonalds already got that "Meal worms" ordeal. I hate fast food, but I do like the Farmer's Market, shit may look scrawny(the meat) but hell, it's better than shit with chemicals in it.

FDA is batting a damn 1000 aren't they. From fluoride, to genetically modified food, to irradiated food and now cloned animals. People with half a brain tend to do just the opposite of what these bitches in the FDA claim is safe to do.

It is high time to get rid of the FDA completely. What could be more ridiculous and oxymoronic then the continued claim that these mutha fuckkkers exist to protect the food & drug supply. :smh::smh:

Shiiiiiiiit

We have it better than most countries, even other "developed" nations

As fucked as we may think the FDA is, Americans enjoy a pretty lengthy life expenctancy.
