Coaches have systems they run. You're skills either fit in or they don't. In football some D lineman and LB's are more effective in 4-3 and not effective in 3-4. In basketball some players better in faster paced offenses (Goran Dragic) and some better in slower (Melo). Some can be the go to guy (Aldridge) and some can be role players (Dray) some can be both (lillard). You can't plug a D Wade in Klay spot an expect him to play the same way because his talents are different.
I tried to make it as basic as I could for you, let me know if you need further explanation.
So, Tim Duncan, not an all time great, just a product of a system he's been in his entire career?
So, D Wade, not an all time great, just a product of great systems he's been in his entire career?
Also, what defines a role player as opposed to a none role player? If Curry is the designated shooter, and he shots a lot, is shooting not his ROLE on the team? What about Rondo, who is designated to be the facilitator, is that not his ROLE?
Curry, LeBron, Harden, Paul George, etc. so... each one of these players operated at a high level in the ROLE they are designated in the confines of their teams SYSTEM, and Draymond Green is excelling in the ROLE he is defined to play in the confines of the SYSTEM the Warriors play... Question, what makes his ROLE and his achievements any less than any other player who plays their ROLE?
Newsflash... All players who are part of a team concept, play a ROLE...
Help me understand your logic Bruh?
