Does ‘down low’ culture make black women homophobic?

@ the spot im at right now, at least 3 groups of black chicks have a token homo in the crew. lets be honest, black women love their gay dudes.

im sure if some of those cats are switch hitters, then they are knocking down some black pussy with more ease than the avg dude.

stay strapped:dunno:

The average women that projects to be "equal" or the "same" as a man LOVE homosexual men.

Homosex movement is a feminism movement that only empowers women. There is no benefit to male authority in homosex behavior.

Women having men bend over like women is an effeminate role which it makes men less than women. it is empowering to women to have me act like girls. :hmm:

A man making a woman out of another man is worst than raping a woman.

Women are thinking "payback" is sweet everytime they see a man being made into a man's girl.

i see what ur saying but i cant really cosign the red part.

Based on the title alone I will say no.

I have no problem with gay people but I like my men masculine. Because of this I have been told that my gaydar sucks (though it works better on women). I'm not wary of gay men, I just can't pick dem suckas out. The minute you don't mind me trying to play with your ass (sue me, I have a man ass fetish) then we might have a problem.

Simple...

Which is the greater atrocity?

Of course they are both wrong...

But at least a women's body is meant for sex with a man.

Now if I wanted to get theological, just to take is a step further...each time a man wanted to rape men in the Bible, a women was offered instead...

But the men rejected what was natural. Therefore, the judgement of the crime was even worst.

It makes them gullible. Somehow this went from episodes on Oprah with White men to a "Black problem" all because of slick marketing for a few books and lonely Black women were enabled to blame their relationship failures on someone else.

This is happening a lot with black women....and this is simply because today s black woman is the least polically, racially or socioeconomically aware than any other past generation of black women....

they are constantly getting duped by folks who want to exploit the black race.

They gotta step their awareness up to stop being trojan horses for the community.

Fam, forcefully taking sex from an unwilling participant (gay or straight) is a much greater crime than 2 mf's that wanna be together and aint bothering anybody.

That's really not even a discussion I'm down to have.

Uh huh.

Anyway,

Here's how you shut me up

Show the numbers, real statistics about how many Black women dated/married men that were gay and show that it's a serious, massive problem. Otherwise, it's just talk heard on radio or magazines, not exactly scientific barometers.

No it's not all talk and radio magazines. It's many peoples real life situations. And people like you? You're trying to make these peoples real life situations out to be nothing. I'm not on the field of saying every man you meet is gay. I'm just saying this shit isn't just Terry McMillan and some others. I know quite a few married men, who are undercover, and i've seen 3 real life instances where this shit blows up in a woman's face. So you sitting there acting like "nah it's not real, this don't happen, Oprah's making it up." Is just ridiculous. You're trying to talk about an aspect you have absolutely no way of knowing about. And if you do talk to women? Then you're dismissing their experiences as well.

Not to be offensive but you do the exact same thing in most debates. You argue from a perspective you have never experienced as a man and most of the time it makes absolutely no scenes but you act like its gospel.

Show me something i've discussed that i have no experience in.

I'm not saying it's not a real life situation, I conceded that earlier in the thread. Life is funny that way and everybody has their own story with many being similar but for many women it's become another crutch to blame their involuntary solitude. I don't dismiss women (or men) that have experienced it but when women are acting like it's a widespread epidemic, then I see the manipulation at work.
See what happened here is you argued a point I never made.

Damn
MM slapped on the Figure Four Leglock for the win.

Considering how many black women you see laughing and joking around with gay guys I would say no.

The down low thing has been overhyped. Not saying that there are any but it isn't a huge problem in our culture.

I'm hoping you're kidding. But just in case you're not. I'll go along.

Me and a friend were discussing my husband and he had alot of -isms. And it got to me to thinking how funny some of them were. and how actually i agreed with alot of them. I know some people will take this the wrong way. Folks are just salty and sensitive that way. But it really is just supposed to be funny. Or provoke some kind of thought, discussion.

Horizontal stripes.

Men shouldnt' have cats.

Silky black socks. Never trust a man wearing silky black socks.

Or birds. Men shouldn't have birds.

Straight men shouldn't sing rnb songs.

take bubble baths by themselves.

Have unneccasary shoes.

Drive brightly colored cars.

men shouldn't wear red or orange or bright colors in general. "Colors are for chlidren, women and prostitutes."

Wear skinny jeans.

wear cologne when you're just going to be around other men. Why are you putting on cologne and it's just supposed to be u and the boys in a fishing lodge...

Dreadlocks, well long hair in general. Braids. Cornrows. Pressed perms.

a straight man shouldn't be watching 106 and Park.

Never drink anything with your pinky held up.

Or drink those fruity wine coolers.

Wear jerseys as clothing and you're not at a sporting event and you're over 30

In a revolving door 2 grown men shouldn't be in the same space inside a revolving door.

And in the bathroom 2 grown men shouldn't stand next to each other at the urinals. If there is space.

No wearing fruity flavored lip gloss. I'm kinda....eh on chapstick. Just because i don't like guys with shiny lips.

no "man bag's" a wallet keys, mint and cellphone all fit into my pockets

no crazy pattern loud ass shirts with shit like dragons, or cartoon characters on them

Add on.

Bolded Key Lines. For the reading impaired.

I'm not even saying it's a widespread EPIDEMIC. And i HATE when people use that word because it's so damn sensationalist. Does it happen quite a bit? Yes absolutely. And you know what? It happens enough, for women who are in the dating field to watch out for. That's what i'm saying. It's not manipulation, it's just hipping women to something else to be mindful of. You were trying to marginalize it and make it seem like it's not something we have to look out for. What happened here is you tried to undermine and marginalize an issue that affects black women. Granted i understand that's just the natural thing to do for men. But every now and then i like to say hey you're doing this. You'll ignore and say you're not and while doing so still continue to do it. But it's all fun till someone loses and eye.

And that thread wasn't even done by me.:smh:

I didn't say you did, in fact, I don't think you're actually reading and comprehending my words on this topic because you making up things I supposedly said when I didn't even imply these things.
It is in the margins so it should be marginalized. That's what I do: I call little shit little shit because it distracts from real issues.

You know a handful of women it happened to and I don't know any so the truth is somewhere in the middle but I would ask: of the women you know, in totality, how many can legitimately claim this has happened to them?

Considering how many black women you see laughing and joking around with WHITE gay guys I would say no.

The down low thing has been overhyped. Not saying that there are any but it isn't a huge problem in our culture.

That's so true.
See it everyday at my job.
Especially with White Gay males.
