I like his logic and research skills, his site www.timewise.org is a good read if you are bored. I just got done reading a prominent scientific magazine about the low scores of blacks and idiotic "Bell Curve" theory. Some of the points on his website can explain testing differences.

Yeah, I think this article is worth posting. It certainly doesn't excuse BF from doing what we need to do in the classroom but it's something that has to be examined from both sides.

Good read and he brought up a LOT of valid points about the SUPER-ASIAN myth that black folks tend to parrot. I just had this conversation a few months ago with some guys at a local bar (we spoke primarily of people of Indian decent in the technology fields). The common consensus was that the India workers were more successful in these fields due to some cultural superiority they maintained over other ethnic groups. I disagreed based on this point.

The Indian immigrant working next to you in IT is in America for one reason, his skills. He was granted an H1B visa based upon those skills and were he not to perform, that visa would be quickly revoked. It is inherently unfair to compare a group of hand selected immigrants to a cross section of people (black, white or otherwise) of varied backgrounds. Anyone who has spoken to an Indian cab driver would be shocked to find out how many of them have advanced degrees from their home country. The reason this Indian with the advanced degree is driving a cab is because his H1B has expired for whatever reason and he is biding his time until he can get his work status back. Many other immigrants enter this country under similar circumstances, it's not that they value education any more than any other "native" group, it's that they were hand selected to perform a service or get an education abroad. The same even applies to the Mexican immigrant population, those here legally on Visas have no choice but to work their asses off because they were granted a visa to do just that (stop working and that worker status is revoked and they become "illegals"). Mexicans in this country illegally also feel the need to work their asses off due to the fact that a hard worker who doesn't make waves is less likely to draw the attention of INS than a slacker or troublemaker. Whites that use these arguments only in comparison to blacks do so because they see blacks as a psuedo-immigrant group not fully invested in this country (that, by it's very nature, is RACIST). Blacks that parrot this logic are simply uninformed and buying into a sterotype vs. stereotype logic used for centuries in this country.

• The Irish were lazy, but the English were hard workers
• Italians are criminals, but Euro Jews are good with finances
• Eastern Euros are not as intelligent as Western Euros
• Mexicans are uneducated day laborers, but Cubans are educated
• American Blacks don't value education, but West Indian Blacks do

Go to the homeland of any of these groups and you will find MORE disenfranchised, poor, uneducated people than you will find in the U.S.A. (hell, their are more people in India that can't read than there are TOTAL PEOPLE in this country, same with China and per-capita be damned, a half-BILLION impoverished, unedcuted people in ANY society has to be an economic drain). This is insentive enough to make sure your best and brightest have the best opportunity to succeed (even if that means in America). BILLIONS of dollars flow out of this country every year back to the home countries of these people for that very reason.

It's all the same and as each group gets assimilated into American culture (Euro groups in particular) they buy into the same logic about the next group entering the diaspora.

I don't think he can "fairly" be compared to Jesse Lee because Jesse Lee tends to ramble incoherently and say off the wall shit for shock value, this dude is just debunking a lot of racial stereotypes and misnomers. He's not so much on white people as a whole as he is certain common themes in the white racial debate that are just pure bullshit. Dude back shis stuff up with strong stats, logic and FACTS, Jesse Lee just talks about nonsense like "Where do "good" black folks like me fit in when the race war starts". Tim Wise doesn't sound like a black militant, he sounds like a liberal white dude, Jesse Lee (and Ward's ass) come off sounding like white supremecists in blackface.

Another thing, the same folks that consider him a "white uncle tom" consider Jesse Lee and Ward "truth tellers" so who really gives a shit what they think, we already know where their heads are at.
