Did all of you Samsung Galaxy users Install the new Android Pie Update yet? I love it so far...

First of all, it's a HUGE update and it

changed the whole look and UI.

So far, I love it.

They are slowly letting it become available.

I didn't know I got it until my

girl told me about it. I had to go to settings

and System Updates before I even new it

was ready to install.

Who got it and what do you think so far?

had it for a few weeks...
its really smooth and looks a nice

My problem is that all the power user shortcuts are disabled- the one I use most: corner swiping for multi-window/ popup window really annoys me


but on the other hand love having the ability to select specific notifications like sms or email or even youtube that can pop open in mini windows when you get the alert

What phone u got, I did this on my Note 9 when I first got it.

Just checked, that update is 1.6 GB....that is madness.

I have a launcher and my phone configured nicely. Anyone have anymore
input on the update. Any screenshots, is this gonna jack up my layout.

I have the Note 9 also.

I also had the same feature when I

first got my note 9. I had to do the small

swipe up and that would show the back

and home buttons.

On this version, I selected to have NO

buttons. I just swipe up on EACH place

(left, middle or right) and it will carry out

the command but there are no visible icons

or buttons.

It's a cool ass feature. :cool:

Oh okay, I see what your saying....it’s more like gestures which is what I have w my launcher.

Guess I’m gonna have to update at some point maybe later tonite.

These Androids are getting crazy w all this customization. Can’t keep up anymore.

This is y it is saaid that on a whole Android users are more intelligent........you have to be.

It might thethe customizat features of Android. I'm on 8.1 and can replace the 3 buttons with a finger tip size bar that does all those features. The bar goes away after a few seconds of no activity.

had it on my s9+ unlocked since it was in beta, breathed new life into the phone was gonna give up on it and go back to s8+before i got the beta but it breathed new life in the s9 , but now im on the s10+

Positives:
The always on display icons have color
It feels faster overall
Seems to unlock faster

Negatives:
The clock is in the wrong fucking place to account for a notch that's not there.

Many apps that I frequently use don't work properly anymore even once I've updated them.

My keyboard no longer enters a period after double tapping the space bar when typing on BGOL. This is annoying AF.

The recent apps view not only looks exactly like iOS, but limits the view of the apps you can see. The old way allowed for viewing them all at the same time, the new way only allows you to see one or two. It also puts some of them to sleep too quickly.

The default Samsung icons look silly and childish now.

Some of my notification sounds got reset to default.

I want roll back to Oreo, but the only way to do that is to wipe everything by flashing the phone and start over, I don't want to lose half a day getting everything set up again.

I'm on a Note 9 Unlocked but don't use the base launcher.

I just showed this to my girl (who was a

longtime iphone user) who recently converted

over to android with the Note 9 and she laughed

because I always said something similar to

this for years, lol!

She made the switch last year and she loves it! :cool:

Yep.

That's what my girl complained about.

There was a reminders widget that is

gone and that's the only thing she dislikes

about it, so far.

Both my girl's and my phone are

doing just great, on the battery tip.

We both have the Note 9 and you are

right... the Note 9's battery is insanely

efficient and lasts me ALL day!

Nothing has changed with the battery

since the updates. :cool:

So I just installed it and the navigation button can't be hidden? Like wtf.

I saw the new little one where you swipe where the three buttons are and don't like it because there are other things the bar can do like hide the keyboard and that's missing with the 3 buttons. But will continue to fux with it.

Also anyone needing a black looking settings or phone, I use the High Contrast Theme II, can search for it in the Samsung Wallpaper and Themes thing in Settings.

Update: I took the theme off, there's now a "Night Mode" in the Brightness setting. Looks much better and makes the entire phone dark, what I'm accustomed to.

Only thing that sucks is pandora went to sit after the update. It closes within 30 seconds of the screen going to sleep. A lot of people are complaining about it including users who actually pay for it

Im tryin to decide on whether to go with the s9 plus or s10plus...

are you happy with the change, are their major differences??

I know the s10 has a telephoto option.....

I'm thinking about getting the Samsung 10e. I got a Pixel 2 now.

When I switched from iPhone to Android devices, I've been sticking with Google devices because being up to date with the latest versions of Android was important to me. I don't think that's the case anymore.

Only first day after installing and using it but the battery life is definitely different. It is improved.

I'm using the phone, 30 mins screen time, been off the charger for an hour and 50 mins and it's at 94%. Now that's an improvement from the prior.
