I think The Siege , Inside Man, The Magnificent Seven are some of his most important works because of his portrayal of Black male leadership IN CHARGE OF WHITES. He makes sure to have scenes to underscore that he's in charge of them and that's so important to see on screen.

I know those aren't the only ones that display that, but they come to mind.

I think the larger issue is that the whole film industry and the television industry has been taken over by military, intelligence agencies, and the police. So if Denzel wants a lot of work then he has to accept those roles.
