Nah that is abuse. To begin with, hitting the child out of anger. Secondly, that she allowed someone to film it and it got posted on social media.
Hitting is not the only option. How about grounding? Depriving her of things she likes? Password locking the family computer? Taking away all the devices she could use to get on FB? If the lil chick has a smart phone, trade that bitch in for a flip phone that the daughter must answer when mom calls or else - and/or tightly regulating her path to and from school.
...And alongside those punishments, talking to her.
Beating her like that was COMPLETELY unnecessary and lazy parenting.

It's lazy. It's unnecessary. It's been happening for 500 years. People think it's right. They think it will change something. They think they child will learn from this somehow. I agree with you there. But it's not abuse to me. The intent wasn't there to do bodily injury. That's something to look at when you're deciding something like this. Man...that was tough to watch. Child abuse. Poor kid took it like a champ and is probably walking around with PTSD and doesnt even know it. If you feel the need to beat your teenage kids to instill discipline it already too late.
