Man, I was on a plane that was struck by lightning leaving Nashville on the way to meridian Mississippi back in 1996. I was looking out the window when the lightning struck the right engine.Man
The entire plane shook like a rag doll for probably 15 to 30 seconds
The captain was like, "Uhhhhhhhhhh..... We going to head on back to Nashville"

Fuck that. I'm filing a PTSD claim today. I can no longer work without the memory of the explosion.

Planes can actually operate on one engine, they are designed to. This had to have been the result of a bunch of mishaps

That was the secondary explosion. I think it was reported that they hit a fuel storage tank as right as they cleared the fence
